What car is it? Some you can take the fuse out to disable it

Won't help much in the snow,

It cuts off the power to the wheels when it senses they're spinning/losing traction

It's to stop the wheels spinning basically, but when you're on snow the wheels will probably spin a bit anyway so you don't want it to cut the power in that scenario

It's a ford focus.

I didn't know that as soon as you you slip or skid it slams the anchors on, which is why I have been throwing smoke out over the last 4 days. New brake pads for me.

If its a Ford you should have a switch to turn it on or off, i had a Focus ST and it had it.

It's a pain in the snow. You want to keep spinning until you grip but with Traction Control (or ESP as mine is called) it stops the spinning by cutting power.

KA's are gettin out, 30 year old mini's are getting out, but not me.

I think there used to be a switch by the handbrake of either a wheel with gravel, or two skid lines depending on wether it was ESP or TC
Lots don't have a switch though
