I like Marshall, he seem to understand football fans more so than most of our squad.
Personally I don’t mind the boos,” said the former Celtic goalkeeper and Scotland international.
“The supporters pay good money to watch football these days and they have that right to say what they want.
“But I can assure you that the players were not happy either about the team’s overall performance.”
Marshall, however, does concede that a negative feeling from the terraces does have an effect on the team.
He said: “It doesn’t exactly help the team when your own fans are booing.
“But, as I say, they pay the money and it’s up to them what they want to do.
“Booing and cheering is part and parcel of football.
“It doesn’t really worry me if I hear boos because it’s a long season and, although we were all not happy with our performance on Saturday, there is a lot of football to be played yet.
“I just hope the supporters can get behind us now. It has been a tough week for them with all the off-the-field issues and they were probably frustrated.”
