Just a thought but is this because they are gonna bugger off if we don't go up ? Big transfers will leave them with liabilities but big salaries leave the incumbent after administration with the responsibility of paying them ?

Easy answer No. The formula for long term success is not to contract long term players who would not be Premiership qualities. Once Premiership achieved, then is the time to long contract players.

I believe they are not afraid just wont issue a long contract if they believe the player isnt of premiership quality. good business sense in my opinion. you may come back and say about parkin having a 2yr deal but the guy will be used as an impact player in prem or shipped out on loan as hes at the stage of his career if we get there and he aint getting games hed f**k off anyway
