Don't think anyone knows realy mate, what the major 'rumour' is is that Stoke were in a pub somewhere in the 70's and singing Stoke songs, and the police come in and said to Stoke "listen, your going have to stop singing football songs because it will cause trouble" then they sang delilah and then it stuck from there. That's the main rumour mate.
