Stoke!! Nukes my day report

Sun Jan 09, 2011 12:06 am

This was my first Forum away trip and what a fantastic day. I got picked up from the Coach and horses pub at Castleton where Mallo and Sam Salim was waiting. Annis soon turned up with his Daughter and soon we was on our way. Lots of forum members which i didnt know and lots i do. The new ones i met or saw today was Chris CCFC and a horse with no name.
I have to start with the biggest clash of the day the Milly V Fishy drinking competition which i had agreed to officiate, but what i didnt expect to put up with was the underhand tactics the cheating the tell tales of both competitors to try and gain the upper hand. Millys claim that Fishy was 3 up before he got on the bus was wide of the mark, Fishy had drank about one and a half cans when Milly got on and TBH did not effect the end result.
Milly just before we got to the Pub outside Stoke had downed a can in one but the scores on the doors was even going into the Pub at 5 Each. Fishy had snuck a can into the Pub but Milly's sneakily grassed to the Landlord and Fishy had to give the can up, But this just inspired Fishy to down a further 4 pints to Milly's 1 so the final score was 9-6 to Fishy. At a grand age of just 17 sorry 18 he absolutely bashed Milly at 24 years old and embarrassment not only himself but all 24 year olds  and it was made worse as Fishy must only weigh 4 stone dripping wet, But His old Dad was the proudest Dad in the world today (only in Merthyr could this happen) and you could not wipe the smile off father and Sons face all day.

Several bus loads soon joined us in the pub followed by the Staffordshire finest and we then had a Police escort to the ground. Carl Curtis was again on form or he in fact he wasn't, informing us on the microphone of one of his exclusives, " Roy Hodgson has been sacked" but we had already received that information 5 mins earlier   never mind Carl you cant be first all the time :D We arrive at the Brittania Stadium and straight into the concourse and it felt strange not to be greeted by the Staff Police without there riot gear on.

Our support was magnificent today the best i have seen for a long time. Singing "i wanna go home Stoke is a shit hole i wanna go home " and the Kev Mcnaughton song was 2 of many. Our players was superb today and Chopra soon put us in front and the noise levels went threw the roof, but just before half time stoke was level. In the second half we rode our luck at times but we came away with a well deserved draw. Can we in the replay re create the atmosphere of today ? i doubt it but today Players Fans take a bow. The journey home was quiet apart from Thomas Fish every 5 mins on the dot reminding everyone of beating that man from Newport England  . Mind you young Thomas had magnificent support from the Merthyr "dole" Massive   .
A fantastic day and a mention to a certain Steve Thomas (no not me) who asked!! no told me in the ground as we were leaving to give him a mention !! so Steve you have your mention   .

Yes but Milly what made it worse is you and i helped to fund his beer   . But look on the bright side in the coming weeks Fishy and his old man will be appearing on the Jeremy Kyle show under the heading " My Alcoholic 17 year old beer monster!!" I am sure Fishy has hollow legs never seen anyone so slight drink so much, he didn't stop all the way home either finishing off his pack of eighteen Stellas.

Also i have to mention Fishy had the strongest beers as well. Shoes off to Fishy

Great to meet you yesterday. Got back around 10:40pm and popped in the local for a few pints and to show my face. Had a great day out, some top people on the bus, but have to admit I was shattered by the end, finally caught up with some sleep this morning.

As a Champion and i was the ref i would like to ask you a question young Thomas : On the bus yesterday we had Annis a multiple Millionaire, a pillar of the community businessman!!, We had a well renowned builder called Mallo who is also a very successful businessman. You had Claire who is getting her Degree in Mathematics and plans on becoming a teacher. Even the bus driver is a very motivated nice fella who cleaned the Merthyr puke from the toilets. What i am asking you young Thomas is have you looked in the Mirror and thought "i am glad i didn't turn out like them !!"
