The first one is Hoppippolla by Sigur Ros because it really made me listen to a lot more ambient and epic music. The second one is Rebellion by Arcade Fire. I didn't really pay much attention to alternative music that was outside of the charts before then.
When I was younger my brothers to always play stuff by Stone Roses, Nirvana, Guns n Roses, Pearl Jam etc so they were always in my mind but I think because I was exposed to that from such a young age I drifted in the other direction and have since become a fan of dance/ trance/ drum n bass stuff such as Tiesto, Deadmau5 and Scratch Perverts.

Hard to think of really life changing records, but I can remember the exact moment I heard 'Venus in furs' by The Velvet Underground and thinking WTF as I've never heard anything like it. still play the CD regularly after 25 years.

Another Chance by Roger Sanchez comes close to my two as well. Just had my music on shuffle and this little beauty cropped up. Haddaway's 'What Is Love' introduced me to dance music though.

Jeff Buckley - "Grace". After discovering this I learned to play every track (granted not very well) on the guitar. I'd never bothered learning before.
A boring one, but heard Oasis - "What's The Story..." being played religiously by my older brothers when growing up. Must have had a massive effect on me because now I work in a record shop!

The first and biggest one was - Please Operator by Tony and Tyrone. we played the guts out of it over and over and over again, early to mid 80's.
It's here on Youtube, well worth a listen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGSlFoBi-qQ The second would be Liza Radley by The Jam. I'll keep why to myself.
