I know this is off the other board but its well worth reading, perhaps it could help other people in the same circumstances.

Why would they love that? Bit of a silly comment mate, when it comes to such a personal problem like that guy is describing, every man wants him to beat the disease - Jack or no Jack.

there was a thread dedicated to it on the swans site as the lad in question is from Gorseinon [swansea west],and he recieved nothing but well wishes.

When it comes to life and death then petty rivalry gets put aside,or at least it should.

well ive been told .
I have sypathy with him as he needs help and if he goes and gets it very good luck to him and he can turn this around.
But to call it a disease is wrong as no one forced him to put drink down his neck the same as being a drug addict.
I consider a disease a condition that is forced on you like cancer or MS which my wife suffers from .
This is my opinion and no one will ever tell me other wise.
But i wish this lad all the best at his addiction which is what it is.
