SCOTT’S YOUNG GUNS...Adam Matthews...

Ramsey
Gunter
Ledley
Wildig???

This is not a dig at those organising or contributing to the fund but the record we have of developing young footballers to PLAY for Cardiff is pretty poor.

Why give our hard earned cash to develop young talent only to see them play the odd game (when desperate) and then over time be neglected until they eventually move on or are ‘cashed in’.

Surely the Academy could fund itself with that strategy.

I think the reason we haven't had many players come through the ranks is because the funding at grass roots level hasn't been there, so other teams snap them up. Something that this fundraising scheme is looking to address.

Then when they do get a player that makes the grade its up to the manger to bring that player on and bring him into the first side. So you can blame Dave Jones for not keeping the players that have left.

Hopefully the development centres will be here long after he has left and we get a team of players that have come from our development centres.

Just like Barcelona :ayatollah:
