Blackpool the best, this cant be true

Sport's most intense fans
Blackpool :o

There are many ways to measure the intensity of fan support, but if one of them is a preparedness to travel long distances in support of your team, Blackpool may have the best fans in the Premier League.

According to a survey released earlier this season, Blackpool fans were, on average, planning to attend six of their 19 away games in 2010/2011, more than the fans of any other club, and to travel greater distances. At the other end of the scale, only one Arsenal fan in five was planning on attending any away fixtures at all.

Alot of that has got to be down to Blackpool not having such a large fan base and easier to get tickets to every away game, where as Arsenal have some many fans, people probably register months in advance for tickets so they probably dont go on sale! As you always see the away ends full, if its Man Utd Arsenal Liverpool Chelsea etc

Remember the scheme to get Wembley tickets for them - "If you've been to a home game this season, you're entitled to 4 Wembley tickets"

Our Ambassadors were entitled to 2 and season ticket holders to 1 and we were fine selling them.

So if I've got this right

Blackpool in the Premiership for the first time, and in the top division for the first time in 30-40 years, and their fans are planning ( not actually going) to six away games. Big surprise there then. Chance to go to ManUre, Chelski etc. for a, potential, once in a lifetime opportunity

Arsenal, in top league for generations and their fans looking at a single away game. Why?, cos they've been there and done it for years !

So what that proves is the novelty value of a first season in the big time for a small club

Jees, when we go up me and the Mrs are going to do as many games as we can get tickets for

If you LIVED in Blackpool you'd be looking to get away as often as you could too!!

With that in mind, I'm surprised the Jacks weren't top....but then again they have no internet access down there, do they??

thing is they get 16,000 at home. so thats around 14,000 home fans and they usuaully get allocated 3-6000 for most games especially games like manure and arsenal. even wigan give out 4,000 away tickets. i think its wrong to say they have one of the best fans in the league because they have a small fan base, its easy for them to get tickets and its their first time in the prem for many many years. i supose theres a few teams in the premiership that are sick of going to the same places just like our fans may be sick of going to places like ipswich and preston.
