Just read it on FRONT page of echo - bit of a write up on it......

Lets hope it comes off - and that the new POTENTIAL owner can show the fans his aspirations and transparancy without bullshitting us.

Put your money where your mouth is, and we'll be as faithful to you as you can be to us.

This could see us push on the the premiership with the correct leadership on all fronts.

But guess who wrote it Terry Phillips his side kick and deal to be completed end of Feb lol.

That is just a rehash of the story in that Guernsey rag.

Steele has no money to move the football forward. A bit like Rick Wright he would buy and then sell as soon as a profit is available and if he chucks a few million to get us up he's quids in.

Would that be such a bad thing. Suely better than the sh1t we are in right now. A staging post for the next Arab billionaire perhaps.

I'd be more worried about a Petty style asset stripper. Or an buyer who would borrow to his bollox against the club leaving us crippled by huge interest costs each year.

The real question should be 'hoew much of HIS OWN cash is he putting in' and how much will be used to stabilise/advanc the club and how much on the other hand will be going to buy the major shareholders out (at a profit to them).

I agree I don't think this guy has a personal wealth large enough to buy the club cash in hand it sounds like he mite even borrow against the club like man u Liverpool we would bck to square 1 if that happened....

A guy I work with out here is a big S'ton fan and laughed his head off when I sent the earlier "news piece". He says his "takeover" of S'ton was complete fantasy, the guy does not have the interest or that sort of money to do a deal.

Makes you wonder. I'm sure Keith Harris was heavily involved with the Southampton takeover last year. Ben Steele suddenly appeared and was going to 'buy the club within 24 hours'

He disappeared just as quickly but did have the affect of smoking out the eventual buyers.

Harris must know Steele and this situation has a feeling of Duja Vu

Great point Tony. It appears not only is PR using Harris' mate/contact to attempt to 'up the ante' via this "stunt" with the Malaysians and/or Americans (if we are to believe they are both interested). But the lazy nature of it all has got Harris trotting out the same stooge used in the Southampton deal...... All seems a bit smelly to me

Personally, I prefer watching Fawlty Towers repeats

The Americans DO exist, the Malaysians DO exist, this guy is just a fantasist. Ridsdale knows it but is getting Terry Phillips to write an exclusive to hurry the other two up! The Americans seem in pole position purely because they dont mind talking with Ridsdale.

Re: Can we believe this, I would like too.

This Steele guy is a bullshit artist.

Southampton takeover, when push came to shove and was asked to prove the finances were present, didn't he walk away?

Complete and utter chancer, possibly even a step backwards from PMG/Ridsdale.

Oh, and post of the DAY FROM ccmb.

"It depends though doesnt it.

We dont know much about the guy.

He may be looking to buy in sort the short term debt and sell on at a profit.

He could pay £10m for the shares, invest £10m , restructure the PMG debt into other loans (as there is a fair amount of security against these) and then move on a reasonably healthy club for twice as much in 2 years. Its a decent gamble for someone who can get their hands on the funds.

Besides which he may just be part of a consortium, a frontman.

He's from the Channel islands - maybe he's got one of the Hodge family behind him !"

LMFAO.

Just to make things clear about the two american investors
one guy works for dell in this country and was not here on behalf of them to invest
the other alleged investor works for citibank and often comes to city games.
they were the two americans that our chairman decided were potential investors
mind you if they bought a pie and a pint i suppose technically they were investing

Ah, didn't realise you were posting windups over there

This different perspective, I assume it was whilst ingesting more drugs than Pete Doherty on a trip to Marrakesh?

For this Steele guy, think Michael Knighton. Except Knighton did actually take over a club, eventually.

Even if the Hodge family were by some miracle involved, eh, hardly gives confidence in integrity either.

Youve said it, it came from the warriors board

FFS I posted it.
I post on here more than Mike's these days.

A LOT of the posters post on both.

Why the sniping ? We are all City. There are interesting opinions on both.

And as for the post itself.

The Hodge thing was a bit of a joke (Julian Hodge) although it wont be the first suprise we've had.

The figures though WERE serious.

Steve's right mate, because two americans come to watch us play doesn't mean they're buying the club.

Rindsdale would sell us to anyone at the moment he couldn't give a f**k about the lond term plans for the club.

Re: Can we believe this, I would like too.

Dont worry Tim, he has just been given a warning, but people like Section A, have had so much sniping off people on the other MB, they cant forget easily.
Tim keep your good posts going. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Swansea City and one Mr Tony Petty springs to mind when reading that article regards Ben Steele.

From my understanding there are no Americans, The Malay, will not deal with Peter after their initial dealings with him.

It's fabrication of the highest order to appease creditors. Thats what stories like this are intended for, creditors live in hope of full repayments rather than pence in the pound. Each month goes on and Peter takes another monthly salary before April.

Fair enough.

Perhaps my trying to find a positive in things might p1ss some people off a bit

I'm happy to take the stick where its justified.

I'm just keen to try to avoid a 'them and us' thing with the 2 boards, as at the end of the day we are all City, and we've got enough people who want to see us fail without fighting amongst ourselves.

:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Its a frustrating time, and the hole is too big now for us to fill.

I think it's a spin from PR and his partners at the Echo once again.

Would love my family to put some wedge in but they're a bunch of egg chasers and Dragons are getting money off them!
