I couldn't care less who this guy is coming Tuesday, i'm venting my frustration.
In terms of selling a player, well that was always going to happen.
Matthews will be the one to go i believe, shame.

I have been having a conversation this afternoon about the tax bill and cant quite understand why it has not been paid already unless certain people got an agenda I was going to put a thread up and think I still will.

I'm not shocked any more, my betting is Jay, Chops, Joe, Matthews or Burke. Matthews has to be favourite though although Ive heard a whisper from north of the border in regards to Burke.

On the Mathews front the last I heard was he wanted to go to Arsenal rather than United, but he 'probably' wouldn't be leaving in this transfer window. Obviously things change though!

hot air balloon drop in during game with banner saying taxi for risdale and jones ..................

I'd be very surprised, Annis, if its only one player on their way.
I'd put my money on 3 or 4.

Better we sell 4 players and have a club to support, than stagger from crisis to crisis, week after week.

The problem, though, is that selling a player just delays the inevitable.
The club is being run into the ground financially, and so selling a player just "helps out" for a short while.
Better to get rid of Ridsdale, then take a few years to properly sort things out.

You might right if they dont get as much as they need, to pay of debts.

If this is the case (and I know who I believe when it comes to Annis or PR) then why is the Chairman being so self important and defiant when it comes to his spin, protestations and 'robust' responses to the likes of Salad's open letter.... seems like suicide
I, for one, totally expected Matthews to be sold this window due the the state of the finances..... despite the 'we are in better shape than you think' PR soundbites. But, if there is a need, even after Steve Borley has bailed us out on the HMRC front to sell to to pay the tax bill balance, I cannot comprehend the disaster than it likely to be our financial situation.
This, especially with a Langston instalment due and the club having 10,500 fans worth of gate receipts for 23 games NEXT SEASON in the coffers!
Fcuk me how bad really is this - PR must have nerves of STEELE(!) and be on a different planet if he can oversee the calamity that appears to be our situation and acts like all is fine and dandy....
Maybe it's me, but the silence IS at this point totally deafening - No statement to say the tax bill has been paid appears to say it all....... I hope I'm wrong
Dear me, it's getting tragic

" ....to pay the other half of the Tax Bill, which Borley and Guy are lending Our Club. "
Sorry, but I don't understand that sentence. Does it mean that Borley and Guy are only paying half the tax bill, and in order to pay the other half, we have to sell some players ?
Sat Jan 16, 2010 8:21 pm
Thing is it`s not just this PAYE bill. There`s VAT,suppliers, wages, training ground,transport......more PAYE,more VAT,etc. The club is on a merry go round now which it can`t get off.Income streams are exhausted for the foreseeable bar a fire sale or a VERY RICH benefactor, which I can`t see coming. It looks like Administration is the only way out as the debts seem to be stacking up higher and higher. All I want is a bit of honesty from Ridsdale but I can`t see it coming,though...........oh,his resignation, too

Thats what it sounds like.
I hate to say it, but compared to what we are facing at the moment, the sale of a player will be a relief.
I just hope we get a fair deal.

Am I being ungrateful, but why are Borley & Guy only paying half ? And if they are, then the other £1.35million can come out of ST sales. Sorry, this doesn't add up. I' would take this 'rumour' with a bucket of salt.

i would not be surprised th st sales has been swallowed up by the running costs, and completion bonuses

My concern is that the ST money has already been used or allocated to wages and other costs. Hopefully to cover us for the next few months, but possibly gone in November (when the 1st 4000 were sold), December and January.
This is why we need some proper answers in an environment where PR will be accountable, which is an EGM/AGM

If one goes, I expect we'll have nothing coming in, so that'll be ambition for the season gone and other players will look to move on.
Sat Jan 16, 2010 10:15 pm
Talking of spin Guy & Borley are NOT paying the tax bill. They are lending the club the money to do. I would be astonished if in return they were not taking out security against an asset.
My guess (& its only guess) is they have a charge against the hotel land at the front of the stadium which PR said was worth around £1.3m at the Muni meeting. That would be 'half' the tax bill.
Therefore it makes sense that either Burke (for personal reasons) or Matthews (for obvious reasons) would be sold to cover the rest.

Do you reckon we'd get enough for Burke ?
I'd be supsrised if we got over £1m
