A forum for all things Cardiff City

How bad things are at Our club at the moment, He new on the field things were not right.
Sam is still in Lebanon and rang to say whats going wrong with our team.
He said we have the Quality, but NO HEART and if your Heart is not there you can only operate at 50% of your work rate.
He then said every year it seems to go wrong as the season progresses ?
Sam said we must be in advance stages now with the Malaysians, I said its actually I believe the opposite.
I then told him most of the problems I believe we have, He said why have we got them, as I have or Langston never received a penny yet in the last few years, so we cant of coursed them.
We talked about our current wage bill, he was stunned that it had more than doubled since he was the chairman.
Sam said, we should all pull together and not be divided if we want to succeed.
Ask your selfs this, if you say you dont want PR, what is the alternative ? Have you all thought about that.
Apparently PR has told him everything is ok.
Sam said I really didnt realise it was so bad, I thought by now the malaysians would be ready to take over.
Then he finished by saying I cant say to much, but there are Quite a few things going on regarding the future.
I think I will have to ring Peter, Sams last words.

Annis do you believe Sam will be part of our future ?
Sun Jan 17, 2010 12:29 pm
Don't you find it odd that Sam hasn't got the fainest idea of what is currently happening at our club, but he's knows what the future holds?

No because I believe the present board hate him,, but I think he would love to be, the man studies every game from the internet and in MY OPINION LOVES OUR CLUB.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 12:32 pm
The majority of fans would never want him back though
Sun Jan 17, 2010 12:33 pm
It might be a naive question, but does Sam have the funds to buy out the current board ?

No one really knows the Truth .

No but Langston do

I'd welcome him back with open arms. I don't care what anyone says that man put us in the champion ship with his passion and i believe he genuinly loves every thing about cardiff city football club.

Thanks Annis. The reason i ask, is that if he does have the money or some money & contacts, it's about time he put up or shut up.
I have no doubt he thinks he loves the club, but his constant mutterings from afar are starting to piss me off now. He was/is partly responsible for where we are now, not as much as the current regime would have you believe though. But I think the mood is changing and with the right checks and balances in place, he would be preferable to the people we have in place now.
I know this is a real no go for some people, but I don't think anyone without an affinity for the club and enough money in place (I doubt Steele has the cash to make a long term difference) will invest in us.

A week is a long time in football.
Lets say we have an EGM and certain things we feared are revealed then I can see quite alot of fans starting to turn towards Sam.

So would I, one thing for sure the Rugby wouldn't last long if he came back. Also because of what happened when he was here previously, we tend to forget he kept Wimbledon for years in the PL despite pathetic crowds.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:32 pm
Get him back. There should be an official consultation between him and the supporters trust. He can be our power.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:36 pm
Sam would be awesome, if we had someone else in charge of the money.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:45 pm
Yeah i would hire Sam the position of 'director of passion'
Sam is right we have the quality but no heart he's hit the nail right on the head. But we couldn't trust him again with our finances which is a shame coz he was fantastic for our club otherwise.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:50 pm
Dont agree that the majority of fans wouldn't want Sam back, PR only camr in because the council would neveer have allowed the stadium under Sam. PR has no passion , loyalty or care for the club.

Don't disagree with a lot of what Sam is quoted as saying, however...
If he's claiming "He said why have we got them, as I have or Langston never received a penny yet in the last few years, so we cant of coursed them.", then I'd have to disagree partly on that point. The massive debts run up - Kav going being the biggest example - was wholly down to Hammam. Sure, "Langston" took over the Citibank debt, but I'd be surprised if the financial running of the club, the club debts from under Hammam hadn't had an effect on credit lines for the club.

[/quotif i had to put a caption of what they was thinking in the above photos, sams would be " this is what its all about, this is where i belong come on join me and bang your heads like the fun loving fecking idiots we are". the riddlers would be" ok i'll put my hands on my head for you to take a photo but be quick cos i feel a right clown". That is why i want sam back.

I forgot to say, I told Sam about you Keith(Since 62) and all your stuff regarding Ridsdale and he said he always had a lot of Respect for you.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 5:50 pm
Fair play to Keith, as long as I've known him he's always highlighted concerns as to Peter's running of the club. Even if at the beginning I didn't agree with all he said, I can say that I have always appreciated his views on our finances more than anyone and still do. I'm not saying I ever trusted Ridsdale, but I'm ashamed to say I was taken in by much of his spin until the last 6-12 months. The input of people like Keith is invaluable to supporters not in the know to form an opinion as to what is going on at our club, even if you don't form the same opinion.

He didnt seem too keen on him when he first met him at the Holland House mind. Some of Keith's questions were a bit unwelcome for Sam
You didnt either if I remember right !
I asked Sam if the money owed to Langston was his that night, or his families, and he denied it. (Abut the only thing I said, it was hard getting a word in
) . I'm not convinced he was telling the truth then either.
Sam was a real entertainer and gave us some great times, but if we are going to move on I'd like to see someone else given a chance, I think there are many who arent ging to forgive him.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 6:01 pm
Agreed mower, we need to look forward, not back.

Sun Jan 17, 2010 8:13 pm
SAM NEVER HAD A CLUE" yeah thats right .why did he make bobby gould his first manager, corky his second.
let thm spend money on gavin gordon, david hughes etc etc.
no wonder he ended up owing what he owned to langston.
langston could still offer to turn monies owed in to equity.
Sun Jan 17, 2010 8:48 pm
let's get sam back and move this club forward
