SOD OFF BORLEY

Mon Jan 18, 2010 5:17 pm

This email from Borley. What a load of PATHETIC DRIVEL.

He's stood by for 4 years while the scumbag has screwed his beloved fans.

His share price has QUADRUPLED

We are in literally MELTDOWN, the Chairman lying non-stop. Every day another relevation.

But Borley wants us to appear contented, so those nice men in the stand will come in and make Borley et all MILLIONAIRES.

And these NICE MEN are only buying the club because they know how much they can screw out of it [Ridsdale told them].

Ridsdale's lying in tonight's Echo -blaming US !!! Borley has been recruited to quell the masses.

PATHETIC.

Chief that was a bit strong and unfair o SB . He has put a lot of his own money in our club. He is between oceon and the deep blue sea here. Without Borley we wouldent have a club

Well there you go Monkfish, you've got two replies. Now can I suggest you just relax and see that everyone else is taking an objective view of everything. As Nuclearblue said, without Borley there wouldn't be a Cardiff City FC, so think about that before you call him pathetic.

A few more weeks that is all,not a lot to ask for

Re: SOD OFF BORLEY

I don't think you know what you're talking about really, I don't for one minute think he's keeping quiet just to make some money from his shares if we get taken over. He's put a lot of time and money into the club, not to mention the free work by his company and additional things such as the better changing rooms and the extra seats in the corners that he paid for out of his own pocket.

It doesn't help that he's outnumbered in the boardroom with PR's mates, so even if he goes against what Ridsdale is saying he'd probably be on his own.

As for the share price quadrupling, that's what PR allegedly wants for the shares but what the likelyhood of them getting anywhere near that figure is I'm not too sure.

AQM, I understand your concerns because a part of me feels the same in ways (not as extereme as you though!), but I do feel that is harsh in the extreme. Without sounding patronising, I do feel he is perhaps a bit misguided, but clearly well intentioned, he is just in the same position as many others who has had his love for the club abused by Peter to suit his agenda and for his personal gain and profit. That said, I hope other contributors recognise that a lot of us are on edge with this hugely emotive subject and that we will not always express our views with the clarity and articulacy we would like, myself certainly included. Borley is doing his best as far as iv heard, thought he allways had put the club first.

Re: SOD OFF BORLEY

I think "sod off" is a little strong. Borley *does* care.

But at the same time I 100% disagree with the statement he made today 100%.

Ridsdale has LIED - almost fraudulently IMO - to the fans over the ST money.

I don't see why Borley is asking for the fans to be patient when it truly seems like this club is heading for administration.

So yeah - I respect Borley, although I completely disagree with his recent posts. Enough is enough.

Re: SOD OFF BORLEY

I did not describe Borley as pathetic, I said his statement to the fans was pathetic. And I stick by it.

Do you REALLY think Borley did it off his own back ??? Of course he didn't. Ridsdale told him to do it. Ridsdale's stock is at the lowest ebb possible. He has slagged off the fans, cheated the fans, told the media he doesn't like the fans, and now he's 'feeling the pressure', gets his little chum to tell the fans not to complain too loudly because it will put off investors.

I'll tell you where I differ from most on here, and it's this. I don't waiver, I don't take cr*p, and can see through most shoddy little tricks that people play.

I don't dislike Borley. I don't like him either. What I do know is he is as scared as sh*t like all the other shareholders, that without anyone to come in and buy their shares and pay off some debt, administration will result, and they lose a hell of a lot.

Fair Play, I agree with 99% of that. :ayatollah:

I agree with most of that.

I respect Borley for being a true Bluebird, and I disagree with you in that I do feel that Borley also wouldn't want administration since he supports this club, however I do think that his statement today was pretty pathetic.

What Ridsdale did by lying to the fans (and this time over something major - i.e. "ST money will go 100% to new players") is - in my opinion - in-excusable and I don't believe that we should be patient, as Borley is asking.

AQM TBH you are probably right.

However, I take a different view. I see Borley's request as a means to an ends.

He hasn't asked us to BACK Ridsdale just not to kick up a fuss YET. The reason being it will help cement our perception as good passionate fans with the Malaysians who he hopes will buy into the club.

True Borley will get a return on his investment, but so will we as the club becomes debt free with serious money men behind it. With football teams everywhere struggling financially there couldn't be a better time for this to happen to us and we could quickly take advantage and establish our selves as a top Premiership team.

Wait 4 weeks for that? You bet I would.

I think we give Borley the time/support he's asked for. I know that he has put a lot of his own money into this club which is pretty unusual from our Board members (I include Sam and PR in that statement)

If this all goes tits up then Borley stands to lose serious money rather than Ridsdale who simply won't make as much money as he wanted. That's one big difference and why I'm willing to stand back and let things develope .................... for now ;)

But surely he hasn't lied to the fans yet as far as that is concerned. The transfer window is open for another fortnight yet so, until then, no one can say with certainty that Peter Ridsdale hasn't delivered on that promise (which he has said he didn't make anyway).

That's fair comment. Ridsdale is quoted as saying there will be a press conference on 31 January where the squad additions will be paraded.

Until that date passes then Ridsdale has the defence that he has time on his side to deliver the promised players. It is also true that the promise to use the money to 'bring' in players was ambiguous (no promise to spend ALL the money on players was ever given) and any way the promise was released through the official website and not personally by Ridsdale himself, giving a possible get out.

Personally if he hides behind that little lot I would question why as the highly paid Chairman of the football club he isn’t taking ultimate responsibility for any misunderstandings from statements released on the official website.

Also if the information was being misinterpreted (which it clearly was) then why didn’t he clarify the situation straight away?

@ AQM

Isn't CMB owed a heck of a lot by the club for the stadium work, hmm?

So maybe that email you label pathetic is in fact something that's in CMB's best interests to, you know, help them eventually get paid?

Oh no, for you it has to be all about the share price...
