It's called the new stadium factor. I long for Ninian Park.

To be honest I think the atmosphere at Ninian for the last few years was no better than we have at the new stadium.
As the crowds got bigger the atmosphere got worse, and post Wembley that special atmosphere had gone.

Maybe it got diluted by the mix of new fans that started watching city as they became more successful.
There were times during the last few years at Ninian when you could hear a pin drop most of the match.

When we were the underdogs, or the newcomers to the Championship we seemed to be able to create that siege mentality atmosphere, and it had an affect on the pitch. Now that we are established in the Championship we (the fans) seem to approach the games differently. It's all a little more relaxed.

Though we got that "special" atmosphere back during that Sheff Utd game when we were 3-0 down with 9 men, and the Burnley game.

True, wouldn't disagree with that.
Sheff, we had a reason to raise the noise level as we were up against it but for Burnley everyone just seemed up for it, right from the off.

I agree, sadly those days are no longer due to the all seating stadia and being constantly told to sit back down by the stewards on the power trip. I felt the last few seasons at Ninian the atmosphere was a bit sub-dued not like the usual Ninian.

The atmosphere when we were in the lower divisions was much better
