totally agree, the fool has realised he's not the next ramsey and jerome etc who will get a prem move, and no-one will touch him, specially with these operations, now he wants to "sign on the dotted line" lol otherwise he'll be clubless

Or possibly he knows PR will be gone soon, and someone sensible may be there to deal with,allegedly.

This is definitely a case of him accepting he's lost this 'battle'. The hip op is going to put any potential buyers off for another year and he won't find a better club than here where he's getting regular first team football. If I was him I'd sack his agent for losing him out a year's increased wages.

Are we allowed to offer him a new contract at the moment? If we're under a transfer embargo, surely it follows that we can't offer current players improved contracts either?

My thoughts are that I'm very happy he's thinking about signing a new contract. A fully fit Joe Ledley is an asset to our team and I'm hoping that the operations can cure his problem and we can get the on-form Ledley back to make us a far better team
