If Steele or the American group bought the club, then Dato Chan would almost certainly stand down from the board.
Bluebirds’ manager Dave Jones is still keen to bring in three or four new players this month. City have to agree a deal with the Inland Revenue over a £2.7m tax bill before they can add to their squad, but Ridsdale is adamant City will strengthen their squad by the end of the January transfer window
Some quotes from the Wales on line,So City now have to "agree a deal with HMRC", I thought we had to pay them 2.7 million pounds, and that 15 days ago PR told us it would be paid in ten days, so what's changed now then. I find it harder and harder to believe anyhthing that comes out of this man's mouth.
And as for the Dato Chan leaving the board if the mystery investor steps in, would we have to repay the millions that PR told us at the Muni he'd invested, or is that two hundred thousand pound figure that is now being banded about.
Allegedly.

Its turning into a joke Gwyn and our club is fastly becoming a laughing stock, the last i heard was that Chan was not registered as being a board member so whats all that about, Steele then does not turn up last night and no sign of our HMRC bill being paid.
As each day passes im expecting to hear some good news with regards to our football club, but each day passes and we hear nothing but more and more doom about our ever increasing debts.
I wish Ridsdale would just come clean and tell us fans what the hell is going on and be TRUTHFUL for once, perhaps he would gain some respect then rather than more anger.

As we all have known throughout, there is more chance of me buying the club by postal order than there is of this gimp from Guernsey doing so. What worries me is every day that passes, the more acute our problems become and the less time we have for any potential takeover to happen and resuce us from the brink before it is too late. I've shared the same opinion as Annis in that I believe the Malaysians would and will let us go to the brink of admin, but ultimately that they would and will buy the club. We can only hope they do because without their investment there is only one place we are heading, something that becomes more likely for every day PR remains here.

I'll break my silence here.
I've got a warm feeling about whats going on. We are going to be very close to admin. Close enough for PR to sell his shares at a cut down price. PR is going to be down.
Sadly I think Borley might lose out although I am confident the Malaysians being honourable people will look after him.
I'm just not to sure how the PMG bit is going to go.

the sad thing is the effect it is having on the club as a whole, we are becoming the laughing stock of the championship, i just hope we can pull ourselves out of this deep hole certain people have dug for us.

TBH the club have agreed a 'deal' with HMRC we pay by 10 Feb or they wind us up that seem clear cut to me??
Also if Borley and Guy are to pay off the tax bill in exchange of charges or ownership over land owned by the club, both raising the finance and getting the legal paperwork done is bound to take time.
IMO that's why no takeover will happen until February and the General Meeting which has been called could be an ideal oppotunity for the shareholders to remove Ridsdale from the board.
That would overcome the final stumbling block before the Malaysians move in.

Land ownership? Won't happen. Council have no charge over it, however it was a clause of the original development contract the stadium cannot be sold for (from memory) either 18/20 years - which I suspect fits in with the Blues rental.
Council stipulated that very early on as they wanted to prevent a Hammam/Plough Lane situation happening, council had no desire for the stadium to be built only to be flogged off quickly.

I think he's referring to a parcel of land adjacent to the stadium, which has planning permission for hotel, etc.

As AQM has pointed out I'm talking about the Hotel/House of Sport land. They are assets that the club can sell as Ridsdale varified at the Muni meeting. The current market value of both was estimated at £2m, apparently a few years ago at the height of the property boom they were valued at £6m!

I was bit confused by his bullshit sorry I mean what he said at the mmeting
Are there two bits of land one at the front by the Canton stand whihc in its hey day would have got about ^ mil for a hotel but now only likely to get 1.5 mil
Secondly there was left over land from the re siting of the away coach park which would get another mil but what could the build on that as i have not seen that bit of land
Also where is this house of sport going then ?
