A forum for all things Cardiff City

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballna ... -25657103/This quote had me chuckling "Anybody who Googles my name can see what I am about. I have sold an awful lot of cars..." There we have it then, the fit and proper persons test has been completed within seconds merely by a google search and his personal assurance that he has sold a lot of cars! You couldn't make it up. That excellent mock conversation post yesterday seems more and more realistic again. It just goes to show that laying off any protests will not stop Riddler trying to blame everyone else bar himself for these problems, Bring on the GM where Peter has the opportunity to divulge his short, medium and long term business plans for Cardiff City. Gee, and I thought that line from Steele would be difficult to beat...

It's funny. I always thought this bloke was a more credible investor than the others, yet most think otherwise.
The 'due diligence' bit with Southampton doesn't concern me. He's a rich bloke, and if he's coughing up 25% of his own wealth, he's sure to look after his investment.

This could be a good or a bad thing Monky. I would like to think he'll be shrewd with his cash and make sure we're a sure thing. However, I'm also worried that he'll be over-protective with his cash and make our progress even slower. In all honesty though, our recent brushes with administration and liquidation have me just glad that we have a football club and any sort of progress be it 100% or 1% a year is acceptable in my eyes.

Seriously folks I think we go to far sometimes.
Slagging people off and thinking they can't work a computer.

My main problem with Steele is that he is buying the club for £40m or whatever it is.....then there's the various debts to pay off....then what about the fact we have no ST money for next years wages etc is he going to plough money in if there's a shortage? I don't know for sure but I just don't think he on his own can maintain a premier league club with a person fortune of £160m.....At least with the Malaysians we know their wealth is huge (same for the Dell americans) but would they have the club's best interests at heart?
Another worry with Steele is I guess we will have to continue selling players every season? Will he have to take further loans out etc to pay new debts arising? Then we're back to square one!!
Credit to the guy for looking at us and I wouldn't want to put him off investing

I suppose it's a far shot but could the 3 investers come in and work together?
I noted David Sullivan stated the other day that his new vision for West Ham was himself working with several other wealthy investors. Considering the way football finances are going spreading the risk around might be a highly attractive alternative and his model might be the new way ahead for medium sized clubs.

I always thought the £40mill price INCLUDED paying off the debt.

Southampton's administrator sure as hell didn't think he was a credible investor. I'd suggest he may know a bit more about it...

The 40mill is debt included

Nobody is doubting Mr Steele's intentions are good, I think its more a matter of we will believe it when we see it.

If he bought the club for £40 million [though pos nearer £30m I reckon,] he will own a very good investment. Once he -or someone like him - owns the club, and all the debts are gone, even in these difficult times he will have a queue of co-investors waiting to jump onboard.

Tony, it's a shame nobody else seems to have picked up on this idea because I think it's gold.
American billionaires, Malaysian millionaires, and a car salesman from Guernsey, all coming together under the banner of Cardiff City FC and leading us to the Premier League...
It won't happen... will it?
