Caerphilly moat mate a few 25 pounders i know are in there. I hear the north lake is productive atm some 18's coming out and a plenty of jacks 5-6 pound.

Also i know caerphilly angling club stocked the lakes 2 years ago so plenty of grub for them, I didnt say this but try fishing for perch or roach in the bay on the north lake and chuck a live bait out


Last time i fished for roach n small stuff i seen the shoal clatter along the the surface and saw the flash of a pike needless to say the swim went dead.

Also Baz there are some big Carp in there and shoals of smaller carp from around 3- 10 pounds, good scrap on the pole or reel and line.

My biggest sack of fish came from the smallest fishery i know...SevenOaks nr cowbridge, I took 195lb of carp on pole and meat in 7 hrs!! If you fish there in the late spring early summer the fish are literally under your feet!! All 47 fish taken in the margin in less than 2 ft of water!! Remember its all in the feeding! Nothing like tails slapping your float around and watching with anticipation until it sails away
