I'ts the tax stupid

Mon Jan 25, 2010 10:19 am

When we get around to political election time there is a saying, "it's the economy stupid". Nothing else really matters. Now when it comes to our club the important thing is the finances and how the club is being run. However Mr Ridsdale seems to have us all talking about this Ben Steele character. This is all a diversionary tactic (Classic Ridsdaleism) he is trying to get eberybody talking about this Steele guy and not talking about him and the way he has run the club. I wont go into the whole list but the two most important factors are the unpaid tax and the transfer embargo. Always keep these things at the forefront of your minds, any takeovers or investment is all newspaper tittle tattle at this stage. Let's all get back on track and and talk about the real issues and not Fantasy Island.

Bill Clinton coined the phrase 'it's the economy stupid'.

The analogy was a good one as Clinton used the phrase to overcome Geroge Bush senior in the 1992 Presidential Election. Bush had enjoyed a 90% approval rating due to America's victory in the first Gulf War.

However, Clinton understood circumstances that affect people directly such as the ecomomy, rather than foreign policy is what influences their thinking and actions.

Therefore Ridsdale can flirt with takeovers by Steele Americans and Malaysians but come the end of January the tax issue will come to fore and he will have to explain himself.

He'll have a good go, but his position as of midnight on the 31st January becomes untenable. His days as chairman of our club are numbered.

I'll rephrase that his position is untenable as of now!!!
