Not For Me - Ben Steele

Surely you have the sense to see why Cardiff are in such a mess and that because your Peter Ridsdale in charge and has almost bankrupt the club - If you are putting in 25% of your fortune surely you would want someone with a proven track record in running a succesful club

If you going to pay a chairman 350k a year then lets get value for money

This deal stinks

That article doesn't half make it sound like the Riddler treated it like some sort of date...

"Steele watched the 4-2 win against Leicester City in the FA Cup and then had a meeting with manager Dave Jones before going out for dinner with club chairman Peter Ridsdale.

The pair talked into the early hours of Sunday morning and were in contact again last night."

How romantic Riddler... let's just hope we ALL live happily ever after, is it? :?

He will need the shareholders agreement for any deal to go through. Whether he will get the agreement of enough shareholders is debatable.

Digging around it appears that Quentin Hubbard plays a sigificant part in Ben Steele's business life. Hubbard is the only director of Steele Porperty (Guernsey) Ltd and has a previous history which includes 5 dissolved directorships and 1 insolvency directorship.

Hubbard is listed as living in Gloucester next to the Rodway Hill Golf Course

Dont borley guy and risdale hold over 50% of the shares.
if so I'd say they'll all take a decent offer.

Have I missed something. I didn't think we were in a position to be choosy

The main worry I have is whether Steele has enough money to take us forward. However, at the moment I'm happy to take someone who can pay off the debts (HMRC in particular) and perhaps allow us 2 or 3 loan signings and see where that takes us :ayatollah: If we do progress then maybe some people with "real" money will take over again ensuring Mr Steele is rewarded for taking a punt when not many others would.

Given our dire financial situation surely we just need someone to steady the ship and allow the playing side a shot at glory :?:

The biggest worry is if he wants PR to stay (I have no big problem with DJ) but surely if he has made his money he will be albe to suss him out in a short space of time  Maybe PR just needs a boss who knows what he's doing to tell him what to do

My thoughts on this and nothing more - I really believe that Ben Steele is nothing more than a ploy used by Peter Ridsdale to buy him more time.

I do not think that Ben Steele has either the money, the desire or the wherewithall to purchase the club. He is probably a moderatly wealthy friend of a friend of Ridsdale, put up in some sort of pretence of wanting to buy the club, either just to buy Ridsdale a few more weeks before he is driven out of the club or to try and bring the Malaysians back to the table.

These are my thoughts on this matter and I do not believe that we will ever see the club in the ownership of Mr Steele.

Desperation.

Allegedley.

The fact is he's believed to have a wealth of about £200m. Given our debts I feel we need a chairman with a wealth of at least £500m if we're to progress. This £40m he's touting isn't even going to make us debt free, it's just for the club.

I see flaws throughout this and I'm not taking any of it seriously or positively until things are confirmed.
