If you had £160 Million, Would you have it all in Cash, earning the lowest ever interest or would you have it invested in properties ?
Would you give £40 Million to BUY a Club you no nothing about and thats just the start, you havent even paid the debts off or bought any players yet. ?
Money doesnt grow on trees and if Mr Steele has earned nearly all this in the last 2 years, when NOBODY ELSE HAS IN THE WORLD EARNED MONEY ON PROPERTY, Then Gordon Brown will run away with the next election.ONLY MY OPINION.

Like I said in another topic, I believe if we are to progress and tackle this debt we need a chairman with a wealth of about £500m at least... or a consortium that has that much money.
Ben Steele is way off and I don't think he'll take us anywhere.

Dark dealings afoot
Theres just something not right imo MISLED

Said before and said again - This deal stinks
Dont know why but gut feeling all wrong
Could understand if he was payin 15 pence a share but 40p a share - You dont make 160 million by being ripped off or you dont have 160 million in the first place

Well, He may be worth £160 million, but probably a fraction of that is in 'cash', ie investments, bonds, etc. Therefore he will be borrowing a large percentage of the £40 million at preference rates, 'gearing up' against hos portfolio.
It is only my opinion, but I am not expecting any 'investment' into the club in the forseeable future. What I DO expect, is someone will get Ridsdale off the HMRC hook for the short term, in return for some shares at an attractive price. So we may see someone buying £3 million worth of shares at 60% of what the board think they're worth.
But new 'investors', as such, definately not, in my opinion.

I think that if Mr Steele has made 200 million in the current downturn, Mr Brown should employ him to get Britain out of the recession

depends where your property is. people are still making profits in london- jersey and the like, and does it matter how he earned his money?

No, it doesnt, but in the last 3 years I didnt think anyone had made money through property.

I can't understand how people think we can be so choosy though?
Surely anybody would be good at this stage? We're in the shit, and I can't see things getting any better.
PMG will want their money back soon, and the list of creditors is growing.
the £40m figure will be to buy the current shares along with the £30m of debts as far as I'm aware.
Even though the alleged malaysians are worth billions what makes people think they are going to spend massive amount of money on us if they were to takeover? They have so many other interests I really can't see our football club being a priority, especially given the fact they don't seem to be in any rush to come back over and continue talks.
I would welcome someone such as Steele, assuming he is genuinely interested and not a smokescreen for Ridsdale. I would much rather have somebody to take charge, help clear the debts and steady the ship. We'd be in a much better position to strengthen and push forward without these debts. We don't need £100m invested in the team, I don't want to be the next man city.
Steele coming in and clearing the debts, getting rid of a lot of the deadwood managers in the club and sorting out the marketing side of things, and putting some money up for players would be great in my opinions. Even if he wants to make a quick profit by getting us to the prem, what's the problem with that?

to be honest i wouldn't , its not enough money to risk and lose, as somone said, you need somone who's got 500mil plus to take us forward, dai sullivan could have done it

How much do you expect someone with £500m to spend on us though? and what would that be on?
We need £30m to clear the debts, and then money to keep us going for a bit + team strengthening

But as David Sullivan said himself last week in his press conference on taking over at West Ham - not even he has enough liquid cash to spend on players etc. Most of his cash is tied up in property etc even though he's worth many more millions than the fifty he put into the hammers. So even with him we'd not have too much money to spend.
