i was playing for west glamorgan in a representive match in london on a easter weekend .after the match which was on a bank holiday monday we were taken to see chelsea and spurs at the bridge these were the days of osgood part jennings ron harris alan gilzen steve perryman martin chivers peter bonnetti and many more the game was a stalemate it ended nil nil .but before the game we were standing across the road from the shed waiting to go in when loads and loads of chelsea came walking down the street dressed in crombies doc martyns brutus flare jeans white skinners i think the season was something like 71/72 seasonormaybe 72/73 the dress sense was shocking in those days what stood out for me was how big these lads were i know i was only a kid at the time but i was quiet impressed litle did i now that in couple of years time i would be coming back with city to take them on
