Transfer embargo

Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:05 pm

Although nothing official has been proven I am almost certain we are under an embargo...if that is the case then surely we have to get that lifted before we can do any business in the window...does this have to be done before the tax office shuts at 5pm Friday? I don't know the answer so I am asking you guys.

Thats why Etuhu is not with us, it is not becuase he is injured like GJ says it is becuase we are under a transfer embargo so he has to go back to man city.

Its not looking good, if we wernt under an embargo im sure at least 1 lone signing would have been brought in just to ease the fan pressure.

6 days to go until the window shuts and mums the word. If they have a rabbit in their hat now would be the time to pull it, but i must admit im starting to fear the worst now.............PAY THE f*cking BILLS!!!!!!

f**k me - Even Portsmouths has been lifted today

that is only after documentation has been seen so Corky I would say paperwork would need to be over to be reviewed and the seal of apporval given

Loan siginings at best for me

wasnt darcy blake playing for plymouth whilst they were under an embargo??

i dont think an embargo means we have to send etuhu back, just means we are unable to register any new players until its lifted!

i may be wrong, but i think he is genuinely injured and is free to return when fit.

I think that Etuhu signed before an embargo was in place and is on a year long loan...providing we pay his wages he is contracted to our club until the end of the season

Hmm, bollocks article.

Says clubs have given the League permission to deal directly with HMRC to see clubs' financial status - oops, league seemed to know nothing about unpaid tax bill.

Tribal football is worse than CCMB for incorrect facts...

We can loan players out and sell players ...both of these things help the financial position of our club...buying players or taking loan players on adds to our financial troubles that is why the footbal league place an embargo on that.

Correct and obvious. Doesn't apply to season long loans taken out BEFORE the problems.

Hell, Etuhu was on the bench not that long ago, when the HMRC problems were ongoing, was he not?

There is a document on the football league website which says exactly the samer I will dig it out - so not bollocks.

They may do.

Except it clearly doesn't work.

As I've said, FL were UNAWARE of the unpaid tax bill. Which means they were hardly "working directly with HMRC".
