Well, not exactly, but supporters who've been going down the City since the sixties like me have been robbed of savouring a big defeat of the real enemy from across the channel. Diluted in all the outpourings of anger over the club statement issued today.
Comments on Radio V Live tonight about the growing groundswell of anti-Glaser feelings at Manchester United, explained how the Man Utd fans were registering their protest; and will do so until the Glasers leave the club. Newton Heath used to play in Gold and Green; you may remember the quartered shirts of a few years ago that Man U played in. Gradually, Old Trafford is filling up with Gold and Green, replacing the Red. OT is starting to look more like Carrow Road (or a big nightmare version of it!).
Maybe this is something we could consider with the Riverside strip - a thought for a less stressful day.
