Borley - My opinion is that he deserves our support.

Thu Jan 28, 2010 8:16 pm

Probably not popular to those who've shelled out the money for season tickets, but I base this on.

1. He knows better than any of us what is going on behind the scenes.
2. He, more than any of us has made personal sacrifices to keep our club alive, not only when he stepped in when no-one wanted to know, but also when he stepped aside to let Sam in and give us the 'dream'
3. He's the only true fan on the 'inside' and I trust him.

I'm sure many are past agreeing with me over this - I'm fuming over the state of the club and the way its been run, but I'm afraid to say the only hope I can see is that Borley can sort it, and I'm prepared to give him the chance.

Any reasoned opinions on this ?

Tim i can only start to trust the boards word once the tax is paid until then I will not be monipulated anymore.

The only Question i really want the answer to right now is.....When will HMRC be paid.

You normally talk a good deal of sense but i cannot back borley today. Ridsdale has taken the best part of 6 million quid out of our club in wages, expenses and shares. He has lied time after time and sold players and made our debts bigger. Our club owes money life, right, centre, up, down and some more.

To defend Ridsdale is disrespectful to our loyal fans.

From steve borley on Mike's board.

I have just read the post from the lone Gunman passing on a message from Sam and believe he is right. I urge supporters to be calm because the eyes are on us and the last thing we need is to give the impression we are too hot to handle. I understand the frustrations and anger amongst the fans but we need to show our passion is a positive thing and not negative. There are guenuine interest in the club and we need your help to foster it. we need to get behind the team the manager and the club in the same way we did on the Leicester game where I believe you were responsible for the 3rd and 4th goals. I called for calm before that game and thank you for the response. I never dreamt in my lifetime I would ever see a fixture list where the 2 games after saturday would be Newcastle and Chelsea. I urge you to keep the faith

Steve

Looks like he thinks they can sort it, but havent yet ?

Answer is - drive them out and who will sort it ?

Lawnmower - like Ridders, Borley seems to indicate we need investment. Sure, long term, even medium term but...

The early ST sales money - not going on players, may not go to HMRC - Borley saying they are working on resolving the HMRC debt. So where exactly as that money gone, and why should we blindly listen to any director until that point is clarified?

At this moment i really dont know what they will do, I hope for the best.

It would just be nice to have the club make a press conference set a date that HMRC will be paid and keep to there word. Obviously the cashflow problem has spiralled out of controll IMO they have more than likely already spent the season ticket money revenue and therefore are faced with only assets to sell to raise the funds to pay.

I cant see them selling any land in the next 2 weeks so my main concern is now player sales.

All i can say is fingers crossed mate but im concerned.

I think its obvious the money has gone on wages/running costs. The season ticket money started rolling in early November, 4000 mugs including myself bought them as soon as they were offerred. That paid november's bills, the rest would have gone on December and Jan, maybe Feb if we are lucky. Maybe there is SOME left, but we've got £2.7m to pay the taxman and another £1m a month to find for wages alone. The only way we were ever going to get new players was if major money came in. I reckon PR gambled with our hearts by telling us the money would go on players as there was a 'chance' of the investment. He's failed.

I hate to say it, but I reckon we are more or less skint despite this.

That said, I've been wrong quite a few times recently.

The important thing is that we all back our team on saturday. I shall travel over from Andover with my 2 boys and for 90 minutes we will cheer ccfc on. At 5pm i shall protest against the Yorkshire Ripperofferer.

Re: Borley - My opinion is that he deserves our support.

Borely seems to be calling for fans not to protest. I'm sorry, but things have gone too far now. I'm making my banner now and will attend any protest that takes place. We're a laughing stock, we can't just sit back and let the board destroy our club, and unfortunately, that includes Borely.

I was hoping he would come on here and confirm the HMRC WILL be paid, he has not given us that answer.

I expect the club to be contacting other clubs over the next few days offering Chopra, Ross, Jay etc for transfer for a cash only deal in order to pay HMRC.

Of course the real question is, assuming the outstanding tax gets paid, how do the bills in March, April, May, June, July, August etc get paid with no season ticket money for next season?

Either a takeover or we sell all the players and go with our academy boys next season or wound up.

Think Borley is brainwashed by the cult that is the Riddler!!!!

Warning to everyone don't look the riddler in the eye!!

He's had us all convinced at some stage but most of us have snapped out of it. Borleys spent a lot more time with him so it will take more time to realise that the Riddler isnt the son of God.

Demo's are the way forward Annis and a long hard Campaign until the Riddler and his Cronies are gone from ruining our beloved club.

I've just watched the press conference online.

My initial reaction is that I cannot believe the arrogance of the man. His response to Steve Tuckers straightforward questions was unbelievable. "I'm not going to get into the intricacies of how you pay back debt" as if methods of debt repayment are somehow beyond the comprehension of intelligent professionals.

Staggering.

Much of it was just flannel and a PR offensive to take the heat off. BUT and here is the BUT.

What is our viable alternative? Steve Borley has stated he doesn't want the job, because as Ridsdale rightly pointed out you cannot win and doubtless, Steve having been in that position before does not want to go there again and who can blame him? It's a thankless task. If I won £150m on the Euro lottery and bought the club I would at some point end up skint and be hounded out of town as some sort of a villain. Actually it would probably be before I went skint since the impossible task of keeping everyone happy in a big cup draw away from home can scientifically never be achieved..... ;)

Steve Borley is right, we have to stick together, in a strange sort of way I am pleased that the boardroom appear to be united. If they were divided then the club would be on really shaky ground. At least with a unified board we stand a chance of coming out the other side in one piece. There is too much money invested by the likes of Paul Guy and Steve Borley for them to stand back and watch us go to the wall.

We have to move on from feeling fleeced, and quickly. Would we have bought tickets if they'd come out and said, we're skint, can you give us some cash now instead of next year? Probably most would have.

What is clear to me now is that this is the last chance saloon for Ridsdale. IF the revenue are not paid off and investors are not brought in then we can vent. Getting all shouty about things on Saturday is not going to solve anything, it is just going to inflame the situation and not contribute anything positive.

I would suggest some deep breaths. Lets focus on backing the team and manager however much we dislike what is going on at the moment. If we end up going up this year then all this is going to be a distant memory. If HMRC are not settled as promised THEN we will have cause to rant and rave because he will have proved that everything being said about him now is true.

It takes a man to rise above his aggressor and maintain dignity. And we need to show now that we are level headed individuals however raw we are feeling. Give them a final chance, they may be right. If the Malasians are still around and they can see a fan base united behind a club in times of adversity then that can only be a good message surely?

Divided we will fall. People always do. Those who unite will always pull through. Focus on the team, enjoy the game, lets dish out another 6-0 hammering on Saturday.

Could it be that Steve Borley and Guy promised Ridsdale they would pay the tax and that's why he implemented the season ticket offer to actually make a push for the Prem (more bonuses for them all if they suceed). Subsequently Borley and Guy have had seperate conversations with an investor who has told them to back away from the payment in order to get rid of Ridsdale (position untenable etc) as they wouldnt invest with him at the helm. They have since changed the timescale in order that pressure is put on the club regarding the amount they pay for the club (as they are far more clever than the board) and that has now meant other bills have come into play making it necessary to pay with our money? Which could mean they are still interested but want to pay as little as possible? :? :? :? :?
