our own boardmember

how difficult would it be for us fans to organise ourselves into investing money into the club, maybe even a buyout. We have a lot of fans who are businessmen and would be able to put together a tidy sum in return for a representative on the board. i know it would take a lot of work and might not even work but its got to be worth thinking about

Its a Good thought, but the Trust would say thats what they do, but its something to think on.

The trust Is the way to go in that respect I think

It's been more than thought about, but it would be almost impossible. The trust were allowed to buy a thousand pounds worth of shares at a much higher premium than others taht are lucky enough to own some, and now to get an EGM they need 5% to call one, now they have had to beg borrow and ring loads of people just to get the neccesray numbers needed for that.

The costs to get enough shares to get on the board would be astronomical, and then as a minority share holder you'd have little say.

The best way to achieve any where what you are talking about is to make the trust as strong as possible, and pressurise :ayatollah: the board to have a trust member on the board as a direct result, rather than by owning enough shares.

Good line of thought mind, and nothing wrong with throwing ideas in the pot, mind you on other message boards you'd have snipers shooting you down for even offering your opinion, but thank god it's not like that on here, and long may it continue.

So if Borley is such a fan, why doesn't he use his shareholding to call an EGM?

Hang on a minute, is there anything to stop someone buying shares off another shareholder??? Not sure, but if not then what percentage of the shares are owned by people with a minimal amount? Could this be a way or should I go to bed to get some sleep?

the trust have the neccessary shares promised for the EGM and steve dosent have to do controversial moves like that when he is surrounded by family and friends with more than the required amount
