About The Chelsea tickets.
The way I see it is, there should most definately be a system of the most away games attended gets first dibs on other away tickets.
I know there are around 450 or so ambassadors who go to the vast majority (95%) of away games so this group should be guaranteed a ticket.
It is the fairest way and I am writing an email to the club regarding the issue for future games, this is an old argument that raises its head each and everytime we get a "BIG" game.

I totally agree Carl, there are about 400 odd who go to virtually every Away game and are season ticket holders, yet up to 40-50 now havent got tickets for Chelsea away, the Club have really had their hands full with complaints today.

Annis are there any who went to Bristol on that Snowy night who didn't get a ticket for Chelsea? if there are it's a disgrace.

Yup, most definately.
It's the reason i haven't got a ticket for Chelsea.
I've only been to one away this year, and i'm a platinum ambassador, but it doesn't sit right with me that i should have a ticket over someone who's made more effort and spent more money to go to away games.

Yes me.
Also went to the 2 home cup games.
But there we are, I want the club to be a big club so I'll take the rough with the smooth.

Ambassadors should always come first. We stump up hundreds of pounds in the early part of the year.
Mon Feb 01, 2010 7:10 pm
im a platinum member and got my chelsea ticket, and i think its right the club prioritise maybe not the right way but they do rather than a free for all,
oh and yes i was in bristol in the snow and i was at the replay among the 10k that were there, and at the leicester game again among the 11k
three cash games after coughing up for next year season ticket
so do i have a given right to the first batch of tickets ?

It is unfortunate that alot of supporters can't go to this game, but the club was only given 5,800.
But at the beginning of the season the club stated that Ambos will get priority to big games. This has been done.
It does not state that unless you go to between 2 and all aways games you get first dibs.
At the minute it's all I'm a bigger support cos I've been to every away game etc etc.....Alot of the supporters can't afford that or are living too far away.
Look the club doesn't have to be fair in this, you pays your money you takes your prize.
By the way, I live in London, been to every home game (Bristol and Leicester included) and 6 away matches, but I logged on to the e-ticketing site on Friday (as stated you could) and got myself a ticket.
If I hadn't got one, so be it. Can't win them all.

I'm a Plat Ambo and I've been to 8 away games this season. Thats not too bad considering I was living in Seville, Spain at the time. So going to Tuesday night game is difficult for the likes of me.
I agree that these Chelsea tickets should have had a better priority but I dont accept the argument that those who went to the Bristol City Tuesday noght game should get prioroty over everybody. Those guys should count themselves lucky that they where in a position to go.

nice one baked
Mon Feb 01, 2010 7:50 pm
This Plat Ambo stuff don't count for anything. It doesn't come into effect until next season.

Stop moaning and join me in the Matthew Harding Bluebirds

THAT IS WRONG. THOSE WHO WENT TO BRIZZLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN 1ST REFUSAL ON TICKETS

I agree with you with the ones who went to the away cup match at Bristol should be first(I'll admit I couldn't make that one),then it should be amb/season tix with a couple of aways under their belt, then away members like amb/season tix with games under their belt and then free for all.
But I think the club couldn't be arsed with that hassle.

Personal Opinion on this
At the start of the season the club stated that all Platinum and Premier members would have priority on any tickets for away game alllocation - They were no specific rules about how many away games you have or have to got to qualify
Unfortunately when demand outweighs supply you will have always have people moaning why they did not get one - The club said some will go on sale Friday afternoon when i got mine despite some issues, you had your normally travel clubs (supporters, dibs and tit travel which was only a text, facebook message e mail or call away - you had the opportunity again of phoning Monday, going on line or going down early to guarantee your ticket
I thnk there was plenty of opportunity to get a ticket should you really have wanted one, however I do feel sorry for those that did not get one but that is life !!

the way tickets are handed out is discusting!! I know somone who hasn't been to a game since the f.a cup final and has got a ticket! Ive asked about tickets , i won't get one, i dont deserve one! im not a season ticket holder this year nor have i been away, thats just my problem
People who travel away all the time should get one first!!
we need a away travel scheme, where every time you go away you collect points when you buy tickets, like ipswich would be 15 points, then bristol 5 points, so more points for distance traveled, and more points for the less "attractive teams" - most points get first dib of tickets!
then ambassadors- who have been to at least 2 away games
then ambassdors & season ticket holders
everyone

Membership of the supporters club guarantees tickets to away games does it not? "Genuine" supporters who claim not to have tickets can't be anything of the sort.
Tue Feb 02, 2010 10:13 am
They said a 'small allocation' would be sold on Friday, they ended up selling 2500 tickets.
Bit of a farce really.

didnt we do something similar for the 2 Swansea away games last season ?

I can certainly understand your reasonong and actually I'm quite sympathetic to it. However, playing devil's advocate surely the club need to look after the people who put most money into their coffers first i.e. ambassodors.
Most businesses would look after their most valued clients that way and part of the ambassodors selling pitch was priority tix on big games. One thing is for sure, they won't please all the people all the time
Perhaps tinker with your points system making ambassodors with 2-3 away games first priority

The trouble with this points system is, that you can get the points you need by just being an away member.
How much is that, £20 for membership????? (that's their chose)
Ambos are paying upto 500 quid for the privilage (again their chose)
Then you just hope that we drop lucky for a big tie in the Cup.
The club stated at the beginning of the season that Ambos would get 1st dibs. They have, end of.

i find this funny, don`t remember all the fuss when we played villa away
Tue Feb 02, 2010 11:41 am
Should have a point system in place for these big games
Tue Feb 02, 2010 11:46 am
Might be a nice gesture by the club (and an opportunity for them to make more money looking on the cynical side!) to host a night sometime soon where every supporter who attended the Bristol City away game gets invited to a night of drinks with the players?
