HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

Wed Feb 03, 2010 5:16 pm

Grown on you and do you like it more now or dislike it now, than when you went to the first game ?

No it hasnt grown on me and I havent changed my mind, its not for me.
But the facilities under the stadium and behind the scenes are FAR SUPERIOR than Ninian Parks, just wish I could of put all these under Ninian, then it would be perfect.

Liked it at first as it was different, but now it's just a standard ground with no soul, that takes time though.

Would you have liked it if THIS ground was built stand by stand on the current Ninian Site? Still a complete removal of Ninian for a new ground but on the same site.

Wayne I wish they had built on the grounds of Ninian and kept some character.

The stadium has the potential to be eletric. Hopefully, in the second season, the regimented rules currently in place can be relaxed. I guess that is where the trust and other supporters groups come into play on issues of this kind.

I only had 3 seasons at Ninian but the place was magical, just something about the terracing that made it great. I could just go and stand wherever I wanted on the BBT. I remember my first game there, ever since I have been hooked.

The new stadium is not to my taste and I would rather Ninian over it any day. But I don't have nothing bad to say about the new stadium.

I reckon it's growing on you though Annis...

I think the new stadium facilities are superb. I for one didn't enjoy queing for 15 mins for a pint at half time, or for the toilets or having little freedom to meet up with mates in other areas of the ground. I welcome just waliking up at 10 mins to kick off and getting in within 3 minutes of queing. The fact that you can walk out at the end without shuffling along the Bob bank, another 15 minutes!

What I do miss is the atmosphere and like minded fans around me who want to stand and sing. That could easily be changed if the club slacked off and chilled out a bit. Change the ends around so that the Grange end has all the chavs in, get some banter going and the stadium would get 30% louder.

Never.

My best day was Saturday watching My Daughters be Mascots, also the Bristol City home game in the cup with 6,7000 fans singing their hearts out. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

first time i seen the new ground i loved it ,but i soon changed my mind about the place when i realised the atmosphere was dire due to the lay out (family stand next to the away section) and over the top stewarding eg: no standing, but it was a lot better at the doncaster game, it@s a shame it takes a crisis to get an atmosphere going down there these days.

Yes, the 6000 who turned up to Bristol made the best atmosphere i've heard in the new stadium.

I was thinking of changing my season ticket over to the Canton, as i always get done in E24 for standing (Right next to the away fans, we're not going to sit there like drips and not make an atmosphere)

I've been threatened about 5 times to be thrown out and that i'm on camera etc etc, just for standing up!!

You can stand up on a plane, on a bus, but no, not at a stadium at a football game, disgrace.

facilities are spot on and the view ive got is spot on , but whoever decided to swap the family stand with what was the old Grange End needs shooting coz its killed the atmosphere and banter generated at Ninian Park , well not killed coz its good here at CCS but u know what I mean tho ? :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Never give up, but it's a hell of a difference from Ninian Park.
And a difference i don't like.

Seeing as we're selling the land and the commercial side of things in this new stadium, the move has made no difference to us whatsoever.

I would have loved a season in the Premiership at Ninian Park.

It has grown on me recently I felt at home for the first time against Leicester thought it was very noisy inside the ground and shows what can be done. The only thing I miss is the banter with away fans being in the canton stand you can hardly hear any noise coming from that area

My Dream was to play one season in the Premier at Ninian Park.

They need to sort that fast, but PR def wont.

Re: HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

us the supporters needs to give it soul. We need to stand and sing. We need to continuasly bombard the club to change the Canton with the grange. Then it will be our proper ground.

Re: HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

new stadium=shit atmophere(i,m in the grandstand, was block a in the ninian)..over the top stewarding(repeatedly being told to sit down, even though i,m not blocking anyones view).........every time i shout an scream, people all around look at me as if i got two heads an should,nt be in there........so the ninian will never be replaced by the concrete bowl we are now in. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

Wed Feb 03, 2010 7:09 pm

i love the new ground, I loved Ninian Park but it was way past its sell by date. Dont know why anyone would prefer to have crap facilities at a delapitated stadium where you would have to stand in the rain behind the bob bank queing for a pint/ something to eat or even to have a piss!! I agree the atmosphere needs to improve but there are signs of that happening , Long live the memories of Ninian Park but its the CCS for me now :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

Its a tidy ground but it will never be a ninian park, and it will take me a long time to get used to it,but we,v got to be there to support our team,so il just have to grin and bear it.

Re: HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

Now I know some of you boys like your beer but I hate the way the stadium empties 5 minutes before half time and again 5 minutes before the end.

If you want to drink go to the frigging pub! And why leave before the end? Not only are you likely to miss a goal (or two!) but the half empty stadium by the end of the game looks like we're Arsenal or one of those premiership clubs full of the prawn sandwich brigade.

New stadium still looks like half finished with the bare breeze bkocks everywhere and takes me much longer to get to the bogs for my half time piss (it's the prostate I'm afraid!) and often I have to queue for a piss despite the supposed large number of bogs.

Apart from that I have to say that the pitch is NOWHERE NEAR as good as NP. Ninian NEVER lood as bare and patchy as at the new stadium.

And if there was ever an emergency at that stadium we would never get out in time. Takes at least 10 minutes to get from my seat in row Z to the concourse even with all the early leavers.

Ninian for me every time.

Re: HAS THE NEW STADIUM NOW

It's got potential, but a few things need sorting out!

We need to swap the Family/Canton ends around then rip half the seats out of the 'new' Grange end. Another big screen in the opposite corner to the existing one would also be nice. A proper clock and scoreboard at each end would also be on my list.
The facilities underneath are SO much better than Ninian though I'd still like some more decor/artwork/colour about the place.
Lastly, would like the girder/pillars near the bars to have some sort of 'table' attached to them.

Finally, the cladding outside needs to be backlit and pulsate when there's a night game. That way it will look like we're on our way to a big, blue, beating heart! It would certainly be different.

Atmosphere wise, it's had good days and bad days. As many people have pointed out before, though, it's our first season in there and I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of fans move to other parts of the ground next season. Give it a chance!

It was the smell of the piss that gave it that special something. All that testosterone hanging in the air brought out the animal in us,
