Cardiff being No 1. Do you support any one else and why ?

I cant i am city through and through and cant understand why any welshman would want to support any other team than Cardiff City.

Got to admit i cant stand kids walking around in liverpool, chelsea and the dreaded man utd tops, if only these kids followed city, i think we could fill our ground week in week out.

But if you do what connection you got to that team and what would you do if that team played city and won the mighty Bluebirds.

I'm an avid supporter of Swansea Town Football Club, The Swans. Whenever I have a free weekend I am always down The Liberty Stadium watching the boys in white strut their stuff on the soccer pitch. They're my fav club by miles and my fav player is Alan Tate, mainly for his boyish grin, cheeky little sparkle in his eye and his beaker like haircut. Oh, how I thrill at Lee Trundle running round and round in circles before blasting the ball into the stand behind the goal and collapsing into a tired heap on the floor in the 5th minute of games. And the fans? Oh, the fans! The best in the world. They must be the most considerate as they are always leaving vast banks of them unfilled for me to sit in with not another person for row upon row around me.

but my first ever football match i went to was aston villa, my grandad used to live 300 yards from the ground and took me when i was able to walk lol, then my old man intruduced me to Cardiff City! neve looked back since 93

when i first started watching the city (1993) my school mates use to ask who else i supported in the prem i use to say, know one just the city they use to turn there nose's up at me,them same people who supported man u liverpool newcastle leeds etc, can now all be found down the city on a saturday.....

Went to my first game in 1977 or 1978, a 1-0 City win v Wrexham, Ronnie Moore scored. If anyone can remember the exact year, I'd be grateful

i don't support any team other than cardiff, but if i had to pick a second team it would be tottenham, i've been to see them a few times i've got family up there.

I got a soft spot for Brentford, whenever i`m working in London and cant make Cardiffs game, i go there..Great set of lads there, and they always make me welcome, it would be easy for them to watch a more glamorous team, but they support their local side, i admire them for that..

City and only City for me.Growing up in there werent that many of us around.People would ask who I support,'Cardiff City' I would respond.Then they would all come out with the same shit.'OK but which Premiership club' or 'so who else do you support'. It used to piss me right off.

Cardiff and nobody else,I couldnt give a rats arse who wins the Premier League or any other league that we are not in.

First game I ever went,Cardiff v Ipswich 1978 fa cup 3rd round,we lost 2-0 and Ipswich went on to win the cup,city thru and thru but if i had a 2nd team then Ipswich cos of the reason above

I've been to see Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest a few times when I can't get down to Cardiff or we're not playing, but I can't for a minute begin to suggest I actually support those two teams.

The only team I support other than Cardiff are FC Girondins de Bordeaux, French champions for the last two years but I started following them in 2005 when I was introduced to them on an exchange trip out there. Brilliant atmospheres no matter who they're playing. Very underrated side, even if I am pissed off with Marouane Chamakh for even considering that Sunderland are better than Bordeaux. He'd be a great signing for Arsenal though!

Also check out a player called Yoann Gourcuff. Still young but the best central midfielder of his age in Europe.

Followed the Saints and Everton mainly because of my first pair of footy boots - Alan Ball of Everton had similar white boots and my favourite Welsh footballer at the time Ron Davies.

As for a foreign club it's Nantes. There's the Cardiff town-twinning connection also saw them at Ninian Park where we gave them a pasting over two-legs. Saw them play in Nantes in the 90s when they were going very well in the league, cracking stadium and some crazy supporters and a few beers in Marcel Desailly's bar.

Step dad tried to get me into supporting leeds united, went about 10 times up to the age of 3, then grandad tried to gettin me supportin man united went to see them about 5 times from 1993.94 season, then my step dad did the best thing ever brought me to come watch the city agaisnt swansea in 1994 in the welsh cup i think it was and ive never looked back after that and will never support any1 else even if the club went bust
