Maybe he shouldn't have started McPhail against Toon, but Peterborough would be a good game for him to come back to and link some goals for Chopra again.

He probably will but IMO he's been rushed back far too quickly. I think he should be on the bench and let him come on later in the game.............depending on how its going!

If McPhail was so close to coming back why did they not delay Ledley's operation for two weeks - It does not make sense he waited all this time surely three more games and two or three weeks would not have made much different
he could have then gone out with games against Newcastle and Chelsea in maybe his two final games for the city ?

McPhail needs to get games under his belt and obviously the only way to do that is by starting against Peterborough and then Chelsea. Dave Jones says he was maybe a half yard off the pace against Newcastle, so maybe 70-80 minutes against a struggling Peterborough will do him no end of good to get him 100% match fit.

Play him I say as long as McPhail believes he is fit enough then I see no other option

If Rae is fit I'd start him alongside Whittingham with McPhail on the bench.
All depends on Bothroyd. If he's injured we'll have to shake up again.
