Season Following Cardiff City, Since I started in 1972, I know I go on about the 80"s Yes they were Superb, but The best ever season following Cardiff was The 1992-93 Season Eddie May,In My Opinion I loved the players, they loved us, They wanted to play for the shirt. The Atmosphere was fantastic at every game, Northampton on a Friday Night 1,500 City Fans, Wrexham Away 5,000 City Fans, Scunthorpe Away 6,000 City Fans, I FELT THAT AT EVERY GAME WE WERE GOING TO WIN
Ive seen all the promotions since 1972 and that Season was Class.
Any different Opinions

Got to agree with you there Annis. In all the promotions I've witnessed (83,88,93,99,01 and 03.) that 93 one was the most enjoyable. I went to all those away games you stated, remember that Northampton one well at the old County Ground, probably the worst ground I've ever been to,with there being a cricket field on the one side. Great atmosphere there though, great times!

92/93 was amazing. I got to meet a load of players back then and they were all a class act. Paul Millar was a genuine fella, as were Carl Dale and Paul Ramsey. Eddie May was a giant of a man!! Not like some of todays footballers!!

Totally agree the best season ever - the scunthorpe game and northampton was superb I beleive we won away that night 2-1. Went to both of those, that said the game against Shrewsbury at home when promotion was assured was also emotional. If memory serves we also did "sunny rhyl" at the old National Stadium in the welsh cup. I took my dad ,god rest his soul.

I'd go for the promotion of 75/76.After several years of freefall, Jimmy Andrews built a team that we finally had something to shout about. The game against Hereford at NP remains my favourite all time game.

My favorite promotion season has to be 87/88. The football probably wasn't as good as 92/93 but promotion seemed more of an achievement as we hardly spent a penny on transfers that year (think Gilligan was our 'biggest' signing at £17k). Also had some cracking weekend away trips that season to places like Orient, Wolves, Hartlepool and Burnley although ended up in Blackpool General Hospital for the last one!

1992-1993 was my first season going down the city with my mates (we were only 12). Looking back at the comments we must have fell in lucky cause we loved it.
