Administration - why not?

Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:11 pm

These are my plus points

1.) Get Rid of Ridsdale
2.) Get rid out our outstanding debt
3.) No fire sale of players as transfer window is closed, only loans with a view to a deal, and they are only 93 day loans i think.
4.) We would still have 4th best goal difference in the league
5.) we would be 7 points off a playoff place. (surely better to be pushing and maybe get there, than be there all year and miss out by 1 goal!)
6.) TG comes in, buys the club for a fraction of its worth, and therefore has more money to spend on players.

Sounds good when you put it like that.

Plus we get rid of the uncertainty and continuous will we, wont we.

hmmmmm, sounds viable

Problem is that the administrator could keep us in admin through to the summer when they could realise the playing 'assets'.

Sounds viable, except...

1) Forget goodwill from any creditors. No more credit, everythnig will need to be paid upfront.
2) People are falling for the "10 point mantra" - WRONG. It's a minimum of 10 points; other point deductions can occur depending upon how you come out of administration.
3) Any investor will have to burden the problem of future income having been sold off / used now.
4) Not sure, but AFAIK contracts revert to the League ( maybe liquidation not administration ). Even so, players can still be "sold" - loan with permanent deal in summer. Meaning administrator could easily set up those sales to ensure credittors get money.

Also no quarantee of getting rid of Ridsdale.

another problem would be if we went into admin the crowds would be vastly down be cause the glory seekers wouldnt come to watch a mid table or relegation struggle, also if the players dont get paid then that opens another can of worms.

To get out of Admin you need to agree a C(reditors) V(oluntary) A(rrangement). This is normally something like you will pay say, 10p in every £1 you owe to your creditors. A 75% vote of your creditors (by value) is needed to approve the CVA. Going into Admin sounds attractive but if Langston alone refused to accept the terms of the CVA, we could still end up being liquidated.
