Time to think lower??

Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:52 pm

Debts are spiralling out of control and there is no income.

If we can't achieve the Premiership this season, then we have to look at staying in the Championship next season.
Player sales will be a must, debt has to be carved into. If these "Investors" appear and put some money in, then great, but as things stand - I really think we should be looking at the other end of the scale.

If we can drive the debt down and try to stabilise things then the club will become a more attractive propostion once again. Just now, it feels like we are kidding ourselves on.

PR has to go, as do any high earners. Anyone can be a chairman. Anyone of us on here(within the legal boundaries of course).

People talk about wanting to see Cardiff City play in the Premiership soon. Just now, I'd rather be able to see Cardiff City play next season.

Your right, looking and praying for Investment right now seems to havr taken the light off the obvious, any company struggling needs to make cutbacks and fast. CCFC as it appears have done nothing of the sort.

Well maybe Ridsdale should activate a 25% wage decrease in all staff through these current dificult times. He obviously won't be cos he's a greedy fucker. West Ham are trying to get their staff across all levels to accept a proposal (although legally they dont have to by any means) to help out the club in both the short and long term - maybe we should be doing the same? Those that care about the club will do as much as they can to keep it running?

As you say.

I'd reckon 90% of the staff are well overpaid.

I'm fed up hearing how players only get a 20 year career and have to do this that and the other. Tough titty. Show us you care. Offer to take a drop in your wage to make things easier.

Players earn more in 2 weeks than I do in a year if some rumours turn out to be true.

Said it before, anyone can be a chairman, or any other position - and there are thousands of folk who will do it for a fraction of the wage - some next to nothing for love of the club. Put it back in the hands of people that care, they'll find a way out.

My team is non league now, fell a long long way in a short short time. We call the shots now though. We don't overspend. We may play in a dump but we have no debt. 5 years as a director - think I got a three figure sum in expenses in all that time. Didn't matter to me, the club is in a sound position and we have ambitious plans(no 5 year plan, just a plan). It makes sense.

Always act when you see a situation arising, not when it's kicking you in the balls for months on end.
