I can understand why Malky started with one up top. Good move in
my eyes, have a look at them, stifle their firepower, see how we
get on. Most importantly.. give nothing away.
Conways injury? I think he'd already decided to change shape, cos
he could easily have just put Mason on for him (and it looked at
one stage that he was doing just that)
When we went 4-4-2, the only think I couldnt understand was, why
put Earnshaw on and not Mason or Gestede? But thats just my personal
opinion on Earnie.
Either way, it obviously worked.
The midfield harried and chased and never let up until they got to grips
with Leicesters excellent midfield. Once we did, Whittingham came more
and more into the game and started to run the show (as usual)
Darcy looked VERY good in the middle with Gerrard
Gestede was superb. He could barely walk the poor fucker, but the team spirit
and fight was there for all to see in him.
Special mention for Naylor. Taylor was hardly missed. Well done Lee.
The manager?... packing our midfield is not necessarily a negative move
at home. Why should he play a formation that would suit Sven Gollum?
It wasnt working too well, he changed it, we had a mad spate of injuries.
... YET for long periods of the game Leicester resorted to hoofing the
ball anywhere.
So my only criticism is, Miller and Earnie dont work
Well done City
