Never Been So Ashamed to be a City Fan

Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:53 pm

My apologies for perhaps not being my most coherent tonight, but I make no apologies for my feelings and expressing them in the most emotive way possible. Tonight is by far the most disconsolate I have ever felt as a Cardiff City fan by far. My previous lowest ebb was Stoke in the play offs, but this beats it hands down. For all those who purport to care about our club, and that most certainly includes Annis and all his associates, I am outraged at the despicable turnout tonight at the "protest" especially from you guys when you whip up the frenzy of bad feeling in the most coherent way, then play it down because your mate Borley says so and in the most cowardly way fail to back up what you say by turning up with your cronies and defend our club. Double standards by anyones standards. If you don't have the balls to back it up, say nothing. There were no more than a couple of dozen at the "protest" and at the end me and my mate were the sole people left. I felt sick. I still do. I am so utterly disgusted that Cardiff City fans can either be so ignorant, naive, stupid or misguided that we would fail to voice our disgust at how our club is run to the extent it risks our very existence, more so from people who clearly have more knowledge as to what is going on than most. Well let me say, I have come home tonight in tears, not just at the plight that may well await us, but the damn ignorance of most of our supporters and hypocrisy of those who carry such influence within our club yet are all talk, no action. We have spent months talking, but done f**k all, now the time is right apparently to "step it up a level" yet barely anyone is there despite your pleas. Despicable. At this rate we will get what we deserve, shopping in f*cking Ikea on a Saturday or watching Merthyr. I have never felt so utterly ashamed to be a Cardiff fan as tonight and make no apology whatsoever for saying I have cut up my season ticket and will not attend another game until massive changes are made to our club. All fans should hang there heads in shame and those who carry the most influence should hang them lowest of all. f*cking disgraceful.

What changes?

And how are you going to get in when those changes are made if you've cut up your season ticket as you claim to have done?

I didn't go.

I did after the Doncaster game, but not tonight.

If Ridsdale goes, it'll be tomorrow or after the EGM, not tonight.

Everyone who purchased a season ticket for next year should be there protesting. If they have taken 3million off us, they should be able to pay the tax bill off in full, so as the chant goes 'where's the money gone'?????

Let's not play into the Riddler's hands now lads.

No fighting between each other.

If some people couldn't be there tonight, then so be it.

We will not go away until he's gone and don't need anyone to hold hands with.

Divide and Rule the oldest political control strategy in the book.

Let's not fall for that one.

Ridsdale Out! ASAFP!

i was there last night, yes i am a mate of annis but the word ''associate'' ffs sounds like you are making him out to be the ''messiah'' he is human and a city fan like everyone else why do all the fans need a leader we are all adult and we are all independent not sheep

yes annis gwynn myself, corky, skunky, cheggs, greig were there but it wass a very low turnout just one of those things, if we go into admin how big will the demo get next tues, i would say massive

and yes i am ashamed of our fans very ashamed, but we are city and always will be, events of today will tell :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Being absolutely honest it's hard to get a demo going when the team has just won 2-0. I know that's not the point of the demo but it was a good performance and everyone had that good feeling a win brings.

I would also add that it was well documented before the game that an agreement had been reached with the HMRC which again took the wind out of the sales.

I'm not against protesting and I think they should continue but present circumstances will always have an effect. I still have faith that Borley and Guy will come up with a plan to move Riddler out by the seasons end.

Let's just stick together keep our powder dry and wait for the right moment.
