Pompey offer rejected

Wed Feb 10, 2010 10:04 am

SSN Reporting that Pompeys offer to HMRC has been rejected. We obviously don't know how their offer stacks up, proportionately, to ours but it shows they are playing hardball.

I agree. It could be that we are fortunate that Portsmouth are on in court same day as us.

Not really, could easily work the other way.

HMRC have rejected one offer. We reneged on previous deal, didn't we?

So did Portsmouth and they are a bigger headline maker for HMRC. Far more likely that they will be put into Admin than us.

And then HMRC get accused on inconsistency.
Shut Pompey down, they'll have to do the same to us realistically.

Agreed that this could work either way for us....Pompey owe bout 7/8 Million ,we owe approx 3 ...if they dont put Pompey into Admin but do put us into Admin over a smaller debt, thats not gonna be fair is it.But they just might make an example of both Clubs......In the words of a rednose Scottish Premier Manager.....ITS SQUEAKY BUM TIME!

I think Portsmouth are in far more of a precarious situation than us. How many owners have they had in the last 6 months? Their current owner has put up a fair bit of cash but is unwilling to put up any more. Inland revenue have turned down their cash offer this morning. However they have allegedly accepted our cash offer for the time being. We will soon find out.

too many promises of fantasy, City have cash and a back up of more cash shortly.... revenue will snap City hand off.

I agree they have no option but to do so otherwise its Admin time and HMRC are no longer preferential creditors.

And we don't have any promises of fantasy?

Ridsdale's next job after us will be working on an island with a dwarf yelling "Boss, then plane, the plane"...

Just said on Five Live from the court that Pompey have offered £1.5Million of the £7.5Million but HMRC want £4Million up front.

They are therefore going before the courts to be given a further 28 days.
