I share your disgust at the whitewash the programme was too. I had my doubts initially about the programme, but when Keith said they had done a lot of impressive work for the programme, I expected so much more having been initially sceptical. Not sure if I'm misinterpreting your comments, apologies in advance if so, but if any criticism is aimed at Keith, that's way off the mark. He is certainly an esteemed contributor who I have no shame in saying is the best contributor on our finances, but his remit does not stretch to editing the content of BBC programmes as yet as far as I'm aware! Keith has documented the problems with our club for as long as I can remember in the most lucid ways possible, were it not for him, many of us would not be so aware of the problems we face.
I always try to keep up with certain posters comments, Keith especially, but I must have missed his predictions that you refer to. I'd welcome Keith's views on what lies ahead, if done so already, if someone could provide some links please? My personal opinion was and is that I would be amazed if anyone was prepared to invest in our club given it would cost £10-15m to buy the club, then within 12-18 months have to service debts of around £50m and not necessarily below that figure unless mass player sales happen in the meantime. Without a takeover, I fail to see how we can possibly get to the summer without administration. If by some miracle we do, then a mass exodus of players is our only hope of avoiding admin, but opens up the very real prospect of relegation in a notoriously difficult and competitive division. Relegation would be equally as catastrophic, if not more so.
My fear is that Ridsdale is showing remarkable tenacity to preserve his position, not for the benefit of CCFC of course, but purely himself. My thoughts on Ridsdale are well documented and nothing short of vitriolic, but what I find the ultimate insult is that he is showing more tenacity, guts and stomach for the fight than we have as a set of supporters who have allowed this to happen without so much as a murmur. This is also true of the much heralded Borley who has allowed this to happen despite being in a position to have done something about it but hasn’t. Guy's lack of interest is insulting and despicable, if only there was scope for it to hit him where it hurts, in the pocket, but that seems unlikely alas.
As stated before, to see Ridsdale abusing the club is bad enough, but such things happen in business/ football with greedy, self-important imbeciles in important positions putting themselves before anything else. To see someone like Borley stand by doing nothing is a little more hurtful, but the ultimate insult is that us the fans have allowed this to happen, with many still clearly believing Ridsdale is the Messiah and saviour of Cardiff City. Well he isn't the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy, but much as we can blame the aforementioned and especially Ridsdale for what seems our inevitable demise, by far the most hurtful is that we as fans continue to do nothing, either through ignorance as to the severity of our plight, or being misguided enough to believe Ridsdsale has the conscience to resign for his abundant and despicable failings.
