with so many clubs having financial difficulties i think it's time to scrap the transfer window i've never agreed with it anyway but it just seems stupid that clubs have assets (players) that they can't sell to balance the books, pompey are a classic example, admittedly with the riddler in charge we would have only the youth players left by now, but it just seems common sense to me.

I agree. It was a FIFA gimmick and I'm fed up of it now. Get it done and finished.

i don't think uefa give a toss if small clubs go out of business, they just want big superclubs

Yeah, but look at the state the English"superclubs" are in.
They are upto the top tiers in shite as soon as the owners get fed up.

I personally like the transfer window, It surely helps us as City fans this season.. imagine the scenario now we are on the verge of promotion to premier league probably via the play offs, the club desperately need money so we sell Chopra and Bothroyd to pay off our debts. Leaving us with Feeney up front on his own

The club comes first. How would you feel if the club went out of business because it couldn't sell players to pay the HMRC due to the transfer window and they wound us up?
I agree your senario would be extremly upsetting but it wouldn't be as bad as the one Portsmouth find themselves in

I suppose im just being the optimist that our only chance is to get promotion, so we would then be able to pay off debts with the premiership money and we all live happily ever after
