A forum for all things Cardiff City

There is room for both and both have the same objectives i.e the best interest of Cardiff City FC.
This campaign should be fought on 2 fronts, demonstration to highlight fans displeasure at the current board and raise the profile and also using the Trust to follow correct procedures and protocol. Although TLGs preferred method of action is to write letters, his aims and objectives are the same as ours and move things in the same direction.
To succeed we cannot have the Judean Peoples Front, fighting with the Peoples Front of Judea (if you know what I mean). Although the Trust's committee don't / can't call for demonstrations (yet), as a member, I know for a fact that most of them (inducing myself) quietly support demonstrations and its only a matter of time until the trusty actively promote them.
I think its unfair to attack TLG as he does work hard for a good cause, however TLG, you don't do yourself any favours mate, the trust should be "open to" demonstrations even if they don't actively promote them. Lets face it, the press didn't really start to escalate coverage of the clubs financial situations the until the first demonstrations took place.
So in summary, let's work together to achieve the same objects, The Trust should follow their route and demonstrations should go ahead and raise the profile and put pressure on the board. Whether we agree with each others methods, we both want to achieve the same thing, so let each group do what they do best and just get on with the job. Together we will succeed.

Absolutely it is not a competition its a cause to save Cardiff City FC.
TLG asked what was the ultimate point of the demonstrations? The insinuation being a demo wouldn't remove the present board alone. Probably he is right, but the end product of the demos should be for now to show a united front between the Supporters.
We can't do that if one major organisation like the Trust or a prominant fan like TLG is dragging their feet. Believe me the Borad would jump on that immeadately.
Therefore TLG I beg you to back the demo and join us whilst at the same time pursuing your own avenues through the EGM.

The Trust is open to demonstrations. Nobody has ever suggested otherwise. I certainly haven't.

Thanks TLG that's cleared up that one then. Now onwards and upwards, we must work together on this one.

I have said all along that I will vigorously defend anyone's right to protest. If that's what they feel should be done, then they should do it, and they have my support in doing what they feel is right.
However, my personal view is that I don't believe demonstrations will have any great effect at this point in time given the situation. I don't think Ridsdale will resign, and I don't think the board/shareholders will give him the push as a result of how the fans feel.
I think it's extremely unfair for people to link everything I say with being the Trust's stance, when that is certainly and obviously not the case. The Trust has almost 900 members and 9 board members. You can bet your bottom dollar the Trust chairman will be present at any demonstrations. He loves 'em! So will my mate who sits next to me at the ground - a Trust member who may well stand for election at our next AGM. And so will many other Trust members.
In my case, I prefer to take a different route. This week I've been work hard on preparing for the EGM and on a blog piece regarding the club's shareholders which I hope to post this evening. Believe me, I've spent many hours on both during the last seven days.

Fair enough it just seems a terrible shame that having done all that work you won't be joining us in the protest.
No one doubts your work and we have faith you have done all you can for the cause, all we asked was that you show the same faith in us by joining the demo even if you have doubts about what it will achieve.
