The trust

Sun Feb 21, 2010 7:10 pm

I believe Football (financially) is close to melt down.

I hope in years to come it will become once again community based and the days of very ordinary players on 10k a week will be a thing of the past.

It appears some fans are seriously pissed off because they aren't in the select crowd anymore.

A club of our size with a monthly salary of 1.2 M is a joke.......have we forgotten the days of fans demanding we sign players for big money?

I like to think of the fans who are the silent majority are the real fans......not those whose ego has been dented.

I despise PR cos he's an inept opportunist........though last night's comments were embarassing to say the least.

I speak for myself.....because I post on a MB it doesnt mean I speak for the majority.

PR is embarassing.......but then again some of our fans have been for years.

But hey.....it's all about opinion right?

I missed the point.......trusts are the future.

There is a saying 'live within your means'. Our chairman needs to look closely at the statement then take a huge paycut, reduce the wages of half the club staff, get rid of his cronies and gives his unearned shares to the supporters trust.

RIDSDALE OUT

The amount of money being pumped into the game is why the average players are getting rewarded so handsomely. The Premier League was founded with the intention of helping the (English) national team become better equipped to win the World Cup. OK, they have a very good chance of achieving this in the summer but it's taken 20 years to do so while the Premiership clubs have just got richer, fatter and care less about the clubs outside the Premiership. It's no coincidence that when the Premier League was formed, Sky jumped straight into bed with them. They are ruining it for the ordinary supporter in many ways and I almost wish we do not make it to the Premiership. If we do make it, be prepared for years of fighting relegation battles and having sub-standard French, Belgian and African journeymen playing for us and getting top dollar for it, too, despite many of the strikers having no better a scoring rate than most full backs. Did you see some of the shite Wigan had playing for them today? Why did they sign those players when home-grown talent is begging to be snapped up or developed within the clubs they play for?
