It was mainly Liverpool and Man Utd for my era.
I was into the hip hop/r n b scene which wasnt the rage at the time.
Conservative were too blame at the time for the country I think.
Ricky Wright had the city.
and City were always up and down yet i prefer the football back then to now.

What football teams were all the plastics talking about - Leeds/Liverpool
What was the rage - Into Ska, loved Madness (Baggy Trousers was the first single I bought with my own cash)
Who was ruining Our Country - The Yorkshire Ripper (Not political but I remember the story vividly)
Who was Chairmen of CCFC - Bob Grogan
Who was Manager of CCFC - Jimmy Andrews, Richie Morgan & Len Ashurst
My Favourite players - John Buchanan, Phil Dwyer & Tony Evans
In the same division as we are now, but it was always a fight for us.
Still see Richie Morgan eating in an Merolas, an Italian Restaurant on Claire Road. Always remember that he decided against taking Gary Lineker on loan.

I really liked Richie Morgan, we had the best position for years under him, 13th or 9th I think in the old division 2

I think the football is better now than the Rick Wright era but so are our expectations higher, we have been spoilt with the FA cup final and challenging for promotion.
I loved the 1975-1976 team with Alston & Tony Evans up front,Campbell, Livermore& Buchanan in midfield & willie Anderson flying down the wing

Interesting thread. It will be funny to see the diversity of the answers!
All the plastics talked about Man Utd in my 11-15 year old days. My Premiership team was Sheffield Wednesday because I wanted to support a team that weren't one of the big boys. I started supporting them the season they went up. Of course I was still attending Cardiff games but good to have a team I could watch on TV as well.
Brit pop was probably the rage in my time. Nirvana and Guns N Roses were invading from the States whilst The Stone Roses, Oasis and Blur were making waves over here.
Conservatives had their iron fist grasp around the country but it was slipping.
Rick Wright with all his bargains and offers!
Cohen Griffiths and Nathan Blake. Carl Dale was everyone's favourite so I shunned him! I also loved Lee Baddeley because his mother worked at our primary school so he would always come and visit. Quality lad.

From 11-15 there seemed to be a massive boom of Man Utd fans, can't think why?? Glory...cough....hunters....cough!!
For me and my friends it went from Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails etc....to Oasis, Blur, Pulp....to Tupac, Dr Dre and Snoop.
The Tories and John Major held the power in Govt, only for Tone and his Labour cronies to steal it away when I was 15.
I believe Rick Wright and Samesh Kumar were in charge of the club. Managers were Eddie May, Russel Osman, Kenny Hibbert (I think) and maybe even Grand ol' Frankie Burrows. God I'd love to have Eddie back now. Can you imagine Jay moaning at him?? BANG - right hook.
Favourite two players from that era (and ever) 1. Phil Stant, 2. Jason "Psycho" Perry!!
