Business lessons Annis

Wed Feb 24, 2010 1:45 pm

"Business", can be a dirty business sometimes. Dog eat dog. Your parents were good businesspeople Annis and no doubt taught you some useful lessons over the years. I wonder what they would do had they been tucked up in the way you have today by Mr Borley? They would be old school no doubt and this sort of thing would never be forgotten. Time to put those lessons to use methinks!!! Trust!!! - it's a funny word isn't it? but the most important word in business and indeed in life itself. A lesson learned by all of us today I believe. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: Come back fighting mate!!!

I'm not a businessman but I am guessing a wise idea is never let emotion control your business approach. Don't make any rash decisions. Take some time, step back and view the wider picture with a composed head. Then decide what your next move will be.

Yes, Annis, speak to the man, let him know your feelings and what you think of him.

And never speak to him again - he cannot be trusted.

There is always positives in every situation and today has galvanised support behind our Trust/Supporters Club and Annis.

We now know who we can trust and Borley has been exposed.

Whatever we are the one thing we have is our honour and self-respect something which is completely lacking in those leaches. That's our greatest strength and their greatest weakness.

Love for your Club, business goes out the window.

That's true and what is also true is Borley and Guy don't love this club. They can't do as they have stripped it of every asset it ever had, for business reasons.

Do we know what Borley has gained from it though? I still don't think we can put Borley in the same category as Hall and Guy. Just look at the retail park they've got, and the secured loans and charges against our club and our players?

I know people are annoyed that Borley didn't back Annis today, but I wouldn't have really expected him to. I'm probably in the minority on here, but I still think he knows what's best.

What would happen if he was in the monority and voted against the chairman, the rest of the board would probably want rid of him. Surely we'd be in a worse position then?

You've hit the nail on the head there. You love your club but it's just business to them. Does Borley love his club or is it about the business? The latter by the looks.

The word is principal. Some have it some don't.

Considering none of the board would discuss the financial situation it’s hard to judge if Borley has gained or not for sure.

But IMO he has done very well.

The HoS will be built for around £3.5m (including land purchase) and will provide an income of £200,000 P/A a return of nearly 6% P/A on investment which is excellent in the present economic climate.

The facility itself will be worth around £5-6m when built which adds millions to CMB's balance sheet.

He treated Annis like shit and took the piss out of the rest of us, so if he is our ‘best’ hope then we really are f**ked.

Sorry the man is a tw*t and that stunt in sending his Mrs. over to remonstrate with Annis shows he has no backbone and will hide behind anyone when the going gets tough
