A Drink Driver or a Football Fan Arrested for Breach of the Peace ?

If your court drink driving you can still continue to drive until your court case.
If you arrested at a football match 99% of the time your Banned from Football till your court Case.

It does seem wrong!

I guess the arguement is that not driving could prevent you from going to work etc

whereas banning from football doesn't affect your normal everyday activities.

Wasnt allowed to attend football matches andtill the court date and wasnt allowed to drive a car untill court so not sure where you get that one from.

Thats the first I have heard about not allowing you to drive unless it was your second or 3rd time.
That didnt happen with Mccormack or the egghead .

What happens if you are charged?
If you are going to be charged you will have the charge read out to you and you will be cautioned about saying anything which may later be used in evidence. You will then be asked to sign the Charge Sheet and a copy will be given to you. You will usually then be bailed to attend at Court on a specified date - ie you will be free to go and must attend Court on the date and time given. You will not usually be allowed to drive from the station (as you would most likely be committing another offence),but you are free to drive until the date of your hearing when any ban that may be imposed will come into immediate effect.

I was in my local in Tooting a few years ago after a Chelsea Spurs game, the spurs mob, for what it was, bounced out of Tooting Bec tube station, looking, ones assumes for the Chelsea lads. They proceeded to cross the road in most slovenly manner to have a pop at us lot plotted up in our local, not a chelsea lad in sight, they were in another pub about 500m up the road.
As it was the "firm" in the pub consisted of me, Cardiff, a good mate of mine with no interest in football whatsoever, Lil and Joan (Lil is in her eighties but drinks Barley wine mixed with Guiness, Joan is the younger bird about 70) and old Herbie with his west indian mates. Plod turn up pretty sharpish and shoo the northern fuckwits away, probably telling them that the refuse transfer station is only a mile and half away where they could aquire some respectible clothes.
Everything all sorted one would think, well yes apart from the "officer" of the law, some young spotty type youth from the university of accelerated police promotion who ordered the sergant to Section 60 everyone in the pub including the pub manager and bar staff!! I kid you not, the "yids" had gone, everything is back to its normal early staurday night boredom before the Man from f*cking Mulligar gets his organ out.
They didn't Section 60 that tw*t, who should be sectioned under the mental health act for cruelity to music! The pub used to be a big, big Irish pub and the Irish do like they music and beer but even they would leave the pub when they saw him arriving...........He probably got the Irish equivalent of Section 60 over in Mullingar

Anyway it took quite a few phone calls, largely from one Herbies mates whose daughter was some quite famous human rights lawyer before they sodded off.

How the f**k the police guy in charge considered the pub a threat I will never understand, normally they would be a few of chelsea's top boys in there (its just outside the ban zone by a few metres!) but that evening just old codgers, the odd loon from care in the community, etc yet he was fully prepared to use Section 60 to disperse the 20 or so people in the pub.

The tw*t is probably quite high up in Plod by now as he would have had all his paperwork sorted and filed.

There is a further bit to this but I'll leave that for another day, I'm off to smoke some more of this Bulgarian Thyme, think I'll give the parsnip a miss this time though

It's a drink driver every time but the police see football fans as an easy target. It wont be long and people will be getting banned for swearing in the stadiums

I'm almost positive you can carry on driving until you appear in court and if you get banned it starts from then
