UK masons are now safe - have been for a long time - the BBC wont ever get tough on them and ITV need their 'brotherhood' money. Corrupt as fukc without doubt and a right creepy bunch of saddos. One faction meet in a pub i sometimes frequent, all black suit, white shirt, black tie and leather satchel - a proper sad bunch of nobodies who think they're something special.

just to clarify. we, the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, (R.A.O.B., OR "THE BUFFS") or not the masons. we are normal people whose main purpose is to help raise money for those less fortunate than others. in essence we are a fundraising comittee. before anyone asks we cannot help CCFC.

Long ago, I was sorting out the mail for my boss one day and accidentally opened a private and confidential letter which was an invite from the Masons. It's all very strange and a bit weird in my eyes. I'd like to try it just because I'm a nosey b*stard but I feel it would be more a novelty thing.

My grandfather was involved, my father was offered. I've actually had a chat with my dad about it all, does seem very weird. Obviously it'll help (get priorities when applying for jobs in some cases!), but I can't help but think I'd feel a bit...like a cheat, if I were to do it.

That's an interesting theory and one that now you've said it I have to say I agree with. I agree with their ideas on looking after each other during the bad times but I'd still be concerned that some might take advantage. Something I'd rather stay clear of but have an interest in finding out more about it.

Yeah it's a nice idea in theory, but not without its complications. In this discussion I had I was told about a lad who was doing electrics in college, years ago. He finished and couldn't find an apprenticeship. His father, who was a Mason put the word out - next thing he was offered an apprenticeship over someone who was better qualified.

Obviously if you're in that position, it's a very hard choice, one you'd probably regret turning down. But it just doesn't seem right to me.

You'll be OK Carl, the Grand Poo Bah or whatever he is wears a little white apron and monkey faces his followers on the second Tuesday of the month followed by a nice cup of tea and some of Harriets strawberry and devon cream scones. On the queens birthday they invite a load of hookers into the lodge and indulge in anal sex, I think the hookers serve the tea and scones whilst this "ceremony" takes place, not too sure though they won't let me in.
