CARDIFF CITY STATEMENT
Fri 05 Mar 2010
Cardiff City Football Club Limited.

Adverts have been taken out by Annis Abraham in the local media asking for our supporters to march prior to this coming Saturday's home match against Middlesbrough. In this advert he is asking the Club to answer questions with regard to the Club's finances.

Annis has a small number of shares and attended last week's EGM. Following the EGM, a presentation was made which addressed each of those questions. Annis already has the answers.

Maybe the true reason that Annis wants our supporters to march is so that you can destabilise the Club. Then what? Are you prepared for the consequences?

We are currently seeking external investment. Will a march against the current management or the Club assist that? The answer is simple. No.

This Club has made tremendous progress over the last five years. A new stadium, an FA Cup Final appearance, the highest league finish since 1971 and positive net assets for the first time for many years.

We have short-term cash challenges like many football clubs. Over the last five years we have had to be self sufficient. We have not had external investment topping up the football club's financial needs. Now we have the new stadium and with positive net assets we have a chance to attract external investment. This will not be forthcoming if they see our supporters demonstrating in the streets, you will merely drive such investors away. Then what?

If anyone agitates for change they have to have an alternative. Annis has no alternative. If he has or if anyone else has, then let them come to put such proposals to us. My door is always open.

It is now time for all Cardiff City supporters to decide whether they want this Club to thrive and move forward or to throw away everything that has been achieved over the last five years. On many occasions Annis has made it clear to me personally that he never wanted to leave Ninian Park. Maybe we have a different vision for the future of this football club.

Anyone who wants to have constructive dialogue can meet with me or my colleagues at any time. We only have the best interests of Cardiff City at heart. I hope that this is a mutually shared objective.

Anyone thinking of joining this march should look themselves in the mirror and ask if they really care about Cardiff City Football Club and its future. If the answer is yes, then come straight to the ground, enjoy the match and support the Club. If the answer is NO, then join the march.

Peter Ridsdale, Chairman.

5th March 2010.

Might be best if we sticky this since Ridsdale has tried to cover up the evidence?

Dave Jones seems VERY upbeat in that interview too.

Unquestionably the actions of an extremely worried man. It shows how concerned he is that national coverage of his third catastrophic term in football will be laid bare yet again.

Positive net assets. Due solely to the stadium.

Have had no investment from outside - errm...... £40m off the council, £9m from PMG and £9m (£14m if you tke it only £10m is left) plus several million more interest written off from Sam/Langstone.

Does he take us all for idiots ?

Why is he so against people showing their feelings ?

Does he really beleive we are all happy to be conned by his spin ?

He's turning people who have supported the club for 30 years or more against the club. devisive influence, has to go.
Time to go.

Annis has a small number of sharesSmall maybe but paid out of his own pocket!!! how did you come by ure shares??? and attended last week's EGM. Following the EGM, a presentation was made which addressed each of those questions. Annis already has the answers. What !!! TO Sensitive???

Maybe the true reason that Annis wants our supporters to march is so that you can destabilise the Club. Then what? Are you prepared for the consequences? Destabilising the club!!! Ye right youve decimated it !!!!

We are currently seeking external investment. Will a march against the current management or the Club assist that? The answer is simple. No. Ben Steele comes to mind

This Club has made tremendous progress over the last five years. A new stadium, an FA Cup Final appearance, the highest league finish since 1971 and positive net assets for the first time for many years. We are skint you fool!!! All income from the cup final . paid to you in bonuses
We have short-term cash challenges like many football clubs. Over the last five years we have had to be self sufficient. This will not be forthcoming if they see our supporters demonstrating in the streets, you will merely drive such investors away. Then what? Like you said in the muni club

If anyone agitates for change they have to have an alternative. Annis has no alternative. If he has or if anyone else has, then let them come to put such proposals to us. My door is always open.It took months for the trust to arrange a meeting

It is now time for all Cardiff City supporters to decide whether they want this Club to thrive and move forward or to throw awayNo you alread done that everything that has been achieved over the last five years. On many occasions Annis has made it clear to me personally that he never wanted to leave Ninian Park. Maybe we have a different vision for the future of this football club.A lot of supporters would dearly love that just to go back to concentrating on football without you running us into the ground
Anyone who wants to have constructive dialogue can meet with me or my colleagues at any time Your colleage has been on this week with the same shit !! he's gone now with a flea in his ear. We only have the best interests of Cardiff City at heart. I hope that this is a mutually shared objective.

Anyone thinking of joining this march should look themselves in the mirror and ask if they really care about Cardiff City Football Club and its future. Listen to me !! i was supporting Cardiff City football Club when you was kicking a tin in the back streets of Leeds and you ask me to look in the mirror!!! It's cost me a lot of money in 52 years of supporting the City!! Well not as much as you earn in a month but to me a lot If the answer is yes, then come straight to the ground, enjoy the match and support the Club. If the answer is NO, then join the march. TO f*cking RIGHT I AM !!!!!!!!!!

In life, and particularly work, I have always lived by two motto's

1: Your only as good as your last performance and;

2: The 6 Ps

In respect to the first - forget the FA Cup Final thats history. Our last performance was a very weak lack lustre performance against a very mediocre Preston side and prior to that what I consider to be an even worse performance against a Barnsley side who should have been there for the taking. This did, of course, follow conceding 9 goals in two games against Newcastle and Chelsea. Forget the FA Cup. This is where we are now!

Financially.Forget where we were several years ago - when Sam was here - This is history. The fact is now, at the present time, we are facing a position in which we have "severe" problems in relation to debt and our reputation as a whole both locally and nationally is not good! That is where we are now and we need to accept that and not hide our heads in the sand - otherwise we will be the next Portsmouth!

My 2nd Motto. "Pi$$ Poor Preparation = Pi$$ Poor Performance"

Financially this is exactly where we are at the moment. We appear to have prepared badly. We have not armed ourselves with the full facts (or indeed at all) and as a result any business plan we had has been shot to pieces leaving us looking (rather desperately) for a series of "short term" measures.

Could I do better? Well I am managing a £8m account already so I must be doing something right!

I couldn't agree more with what you said.

I don't understand why people think we are not supporting the team just because we are protesting.

I don't like to stereotype people but this is a case where I have to, these people who are not protesting are the one's who sit in silence in the match. Now if that's their way of supporting the team then fair enough but my way is to chant and try to create an atmosphere.

I know which actions the players appreciate more. :ayatollah:

Well done Peter from Margam, all very simple questions that are easy to answer and have to be answered!(red highlighting helped too).

Hadn't contenplated going on the March as I have my pre-match pint in Penarth, but will be there tomorrow with North Somerset Bluebirds.

Remember the last good protest, was it Gillingham in Fa Cup? Everyone in the Canton Stand and enclosure, with Neal and Hibbett in directors box?

If PR asked all the real CCFC fans they would have given him the same answer!!!

I did not want to leave NP it had heart and soul and character - the CCS is a souless breeze block arena with crap accoustics.

But you have to move with the times and the players needed a multi-million pound refurb - hot tubs - chairmans personal toilet for one season just to show the future of the club! "ADMIN IS PR'S FUTURE" it is laughable
Another few seasons at NP would have done me too but PR forgets Annis and all the other NP lovers still bought ST tickets 2008/2009 and also upfronted cash for 2009/2020 for their future watching their club!

PR this is not Annis's march - i am marching for my own beliefs your a ROBBER and a LIAR! IMO of course :D

I have only just read that statement and it just makes me so angry  Who the f**k does Ridsdale think he his asking me and many like me to look at ourselves in the mirror and questioning if we are true supporters??? For his information i have supported the Club 40 years and i have seen some piss poor Chairmen and Boards in that time but this lot of incompetent blundering lying cheating fools make any one who came before them look a paragon of virtue.

I will be there long after Ridsdale and his cronies have gone and unlike them i don't take a penny out of the Club all i have ever done like thousands of others is spent money on my beloved Bluebirds which has been squandered by the shower we currently have in charge.

BTW If they need to make savings they can start by reducing the salary & bonus of Ridsdale and the other Board members by 50% and by making one of the Stadium Managers, Press Officer and Keith Harris redundant.

See you all at the march later today :ayatollah:
