Advanced is where Ridsdale has already had the advanced payment from Banks to cover his future sale,
Prep is when PR is preparing to mortage his future value....

All wrong, this is the facts lol.
Prep is pre age ie 7/8 yrs in preperation for Academy.
Once 9 plus at Cardiff, you have 3 levels.
DC... development centre.
ADC ... Advanced Development centre
Academy.
DC and ADC , run by football in the community. Academy run by club.
Best tip.... let your kid play and express himself until hes 13/14 and keep your money in your pocket!

I think when you are in the Development Centre you can still play for your local team. Once in the Academy you cannot and are contracted to Cardiff.

Both DC/ ADC you can, put the parent has to pay! and its nothing special and very unorgainsed at Cardiff it pains me to say.

6 weeks is the normal trial period pre signing, so in effect yes until/if he signs a year to Academy.
