in this article it says the taxman says in cxourt today we owe another one million since last court hearing on top of the 2.7m i just cant see how that is possible it was only 4 weeks ago 1 million £ a month tax bill that cant be right!

i have, we owed 2.7 millionwe paid 1.85 million off the debt leaving £850,000 left to pay from the bill 4 weeks ago how can it now be 1.8 million today then? a million more in a month no chance that would mean that we pay 12 million in a year in tax no chance of that

"He said that the original debt was £2.7m, of which £1m was paid ahead of the previous hearing four weeks ago.

Of the remaining £1.7m, he said that half was paid yesterday, leaving £850,000 still outstanding. However, he said that in order to pay its historic debts the club had defaulted on its ongoing obligations to pay PAYE and VAT, incurring a further debt of £1.053m."

So the club has paid off £1.85m but to do so it defaulted on £1.05m, meaning it has only really paid £800,000.

The the new debts probably took time to work through the system and its this delay which has allowed the club to pull off what is in no certain terms a scam.

The £1m of new debt was probably built up over a number of months not just one and also includes VAT.
