my opinion on todays

footballers:

players these days get brought to a club at young ages to do their scholarship/appreniceship what ever they call it nowadays.lets face it tho when i done my apprenticeship it was crap money but i was doing the same job as all the lads that were fully qualified so this gave me confidence and when i qualified an was on decent pay i appreciated the money more and give respect to the lads who were doing their apprentice.were im going with this is that you can do whatever you like when their kids playing the game but nothing can train you to play infront of thousands and thousands and earning thousands and thousands a week.you have either got it or u aint.and what do you do when you got so much money and time on your hands you go and find fun whatever it maybe.from top to bottom there a footballers doing wrong thing to get a cheap thrill cos they havent been taught how to deal with such things from a young age!!think of it what you may thas my opinion!!!

95% of footballers are overpaid lazy poofs.

20 years ago i was on holiday with David Speedie who was at liverpool at the time , he was picked up by barnsley at the age of 17 while playing local football. At the time he was working down the pit & all of a sudden he was earning a decent wage doing something he loved.He said he never forgot those days down the pit & used to go in for extra training on his own to ensure he would'nt have to go back to his old way of making a living.Most players today have never experienced that way of life before football.

I think its the clubs who have a responsibility to look after the players and see them on the right track. If someone started paying me 6k a week, you can bet your arse I'd be on the piss everyday and in the bookies, and I'm quite level headed and sensible. And thats at 27. Imagine what its like to have a couple of grand in your pocket from 17 with days to fill??
