by the time it starts the press will already have them as winners, which makes the sight of them f*cking it up in the quarter finals even funnier, hopefully to a country they have previously invaded or raped.

id prefer to use a sharpened goat to remove my cock should they win

If they're lucky then they'll win it. If they do then it's time to move abroad because we'll never hear the end of it - just like when Wales win a rugby match!

Out of all, I obviously like this answer best!!..however, not a chance we will win the world cup, Spain or Brazil is where the money should go.

I'm a little more concerned this time around, purely due to the quality of their manager, but this is only Ingurlland after all and I can see an injury to Rooney changing their whole psyche. We will then have years of what ifs? in the papers but that's surely better than if they won it.

While I still think Spain are a much stronger bet I do fear that this England squad could be a threat. They have the manager and then they have Rooney who is on fire. Can see him winning the World cup on his own!

Lets just hope for a nice little Metatarsal injury between now and the World Cup! :D

The media will always f**k it up. They seem intent on making sure England don't win the tournament by dragging up dirt and problems. Note the latest bugging scandal.

Anyway, England's team isn't good enough compared to Argentina, Spain and Germany. Saying that, Italy weren't the best team at the 2006 World Cup. I just don't think England have enough fire power and Capello's record against the bigger teams isn't very good.

Jeez...you really do hate us hey.

Personally, i've nothing at all against Wales, if this was reversed and it was you going to the World Cup I would be cheering (ok maybe not cheering) you all the way.

I can't say the same about the sweaties, so get where you are coming from.

i think if you look at their squad on paper, with a proven quality manager, you'd say quarter finals at least, semi's finals maybe

but this is england, anything could happen

of course i'll be supporting italy. have some family going out there, jealous isn't the word

Nope. Even though they have the best player in the world at the moment, it doesn't change that they will, once again fail to meet the massive media expectations. I for one will be laughing my cock off!!

Argentina are pants! barely made it through qualifying this time!!
England can win the world cup, but always fail at the last hurdle.

Rooney won't be though. There's so many games between now and then.

And besides, against Spain, Italy and even France, England's midfield pales in comparison, so the great Rooney will have no service. And the less said about England's defence the better - Vidic carries Ferdinand at ManUre. They'll do as well as Holland do. But if they somehow manage to play Holland I think even the Dutch have a good chance of beating them.

don't count on that, it's a bit of a transition right now. pirlo, gattuso, camoranesi and the like will be on the way out eventually and the 'new generation' of players such as montolivo, aquilani, marchisio, pepe etc haven't really lived up to expectations as of yet

up front (if quagliarella's firing) and in defence i think we're almost as good as anyone on form. buffon's always reliable although he has suffered with a couple of injuries this year for i bianconeri

the group was very, very kind too, which does help :D quite optimistic now thinking about it!
