I presume there is something tactical in the date set by the court for us to pay HMRC - if it's 5 days after the end of season - if we don't pay and go into Admin the 10 points deductution will take place for NEXT season rather than this?
Or if we make the play-offs so effectivly the season hasn't ended and then it's implemneted immeditely than do we drop out of the play-offs?
I can see us being in the play-offs and then going into admin and whoever comes 7th complaining like mad.
Also if we did make the play offs, then go into admin and WIN the play-offs - would we start in the Prem on minus9 points or would the PL actually refuse us entry based on the fact that we're already in admin?
anybody got any answers / views?

If we go into administration AFTER 25th March the point seduction will occur next season. So if we fo into administration in May then it will not affect our final position.
It would be odd if we were in the play offs, went into administration and then got promoted via the play offs. Would we be worth buying if we were in the prem starring on minus nine points

That assumes we don't get penalised. Swindon, albeit with financial wrongdoings, got relegated. I'd suspect the same would happen - w'd be refused entry to the Prem, remain in Champ or be relegated to Div 1 with a points penalty.

starting with minus 9 points would take a lot of pressure off - most clubs these days play NOT TO LOSE - we'd have no problem with that mentallity as we'd already be down - might give a few teams a decent game!

If we did win the play-off final and got promoted I assume we wouldn't be in administration for long. The financial benefit of promotion would probably be enough to pay off our main creditors (HMRC, Stadium Contractors etc) so when the season started in August we would be out of admin, all be it with a 9 point deduction.

i think your all getting ahead of yourselves here
i think if we tried to go into admin the hmrc would still likely wind us up as they would argue that this is our third winding up order
my honest opinion is no investment this month no club by the summer

Steve, if the HMRC tried to wind us up, we would go into administration that's how it works. The administrator would then take stock on which was the best way forward to statisfy the general interests of all the creditors, that might include selling the club as a going concern or liquidating the club's assets.
Remember there are 10,000 season ticket holders who are creditors and are owed around £2.6m (£700,000 more than the HMRC). The best way of dealing with them would be to sell the club as a going concern and honour the tickets.
I'm not saying that would happen but there is a 50/50 chance the club could survive.

am I right in thinking that if we get wound up, then the clus as we know ceases to trade, assets then are either sold or "dispersed" to cover debts owed.
The only difference being that for a football club, the players [ which are assets ] get released from their contracts so then just pick up a new club without any fee being paid?
Is it also correct, that once all the assets are sold, then the money is split up based on the money owed, so if we owe Sam £10m, PMG £10m, HMRC £2m and others about £8m, then PMG could "buy" the stadium for a knock-down price - say £15m and offset that against the debt they are already owed meaning they'll pick it up for virtually nothing?

Tony - I think if we get "wound up" then it's a liquidater we get not an administrator - the liquidators job is to sell everything, and as I said above I believe players get released from contracts...so no club.

I saw a quote in the paper today from Matthew Smith, on behalf of HMRC, who said Cardiff are "robbing Peter to pay Paul to cover the debt". Surely it's more "robbing Paul (and Dave and John and Greg and Simon and Clive and Annis etc...) to pay Peter??

its just delaying the inevitable, unless we get investment we are fucked, and if what is said on here is to be believed ,then we wont get investment until ridsdale walks, and he aint gonna walk.
